Free Music Notes for The Big Lebowski: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: For the record... Hit: 4 Stars
Great movie, great soundtrack. For the record, Townes Van Zandt both wrote and performs Dead Flowers. Sir Mick, the Glimmer Twins, The Rolling Stones, whateveryouwanttocallthemtoday recorded Townes's song and made it famous. Luckily, the Coen Bros know the original is the best. Too bad that who ever posted this text originally didn't know the difference.
Free Music Review: Where is the Creedence? Hit: 4 Stars
I haven't heard the album as a whole yet, but I'm an addict on the film. And what I'm wondering is - where is the Creedence, man? CCR defines this flick. Where in hell is "Lookin' Out My Backdoor?" Just thinking of The Dude pounding on his roof of his car, with joint and beer in hand has me rolling! And it's because of the Creedence!
Free Music Review: Where's the CCR maaan? Hit: 4 Stars
Excellent movie needs an excellent soundtrack, which it would have, had some of the tracks not been missing, specifically the Creedence C.R. tracks. However, thanks to the songs by Kenny Rogers, Bob Dylan and a few other tracks, the CD is definitely worth every penny. Minus one star for leaving out CCR!
Free Music Review: Sometimes you eat the bear ... Hit: 4 Stars
The absence of Creedence is an eastern thing, y'all -- note also that the Eagles' "Peaceful Easy Feeling", though present in the movie, is not included either. CCR and the Eagles negate each other, like matter and anti-matter (respectively).
Free Music Review: Find Colvin, Creedence, (and Eagles) Elsewhere Hit: 4 Stars
Shawn Colvin's version of Viva Las Vegas, which seems to be the most difficult to find of the "missing" tracks, can be found on the 1995 Doc Pomus Tribute CD 'Till The Night Is Gone' - also somewhat difficult to find, but an excellent CD.
