Free Music Review: Maybe Not Their Best, But Better Than Most Music!

It's refreshing to hear an original band with an album that sounds as if each song is different! Each song has a uniqueness that is refreshing and listening over and over never gets tedious. This is a great album for people who like mellow rock, with a blues and folk influence. Pretty magical music.
I would actually even buy this as a gift for someone despite not knowing their individual music preferences. (Except that they aren't into rap or country).

I've been a fan of the Black Keys for quite a while now, and I've gotta say: this new album is the best thing I've heard in a long time. The Black Keys for me have always held a certain tone and quality that always seems familiar in the back of my mind, and this is just the next step forward. Some of the lyrics get a little repetitious but its easy to look over that fact with the quality of music these two dudes make. Where has this band been all my life? Just discovered them when I bought this CD. And I'm loving it! Now, I'm busy adding the rest of their albums to my music collection. I can't get enough of this band - their sound is so hypnotic and sensual. There is not one bad song on this CD. I especially like "Strange Times" and "I Got Mine." I have never heard of this band until I saw them at Lollapalooza. Loved it!
The day after the concert, I was looking for one of their Cd's. This is the one I happen to come across. The Cd was great. They had sort of a southern bluesy sound. Like some classic rock.
So this CD is great. Pick it up when you have the chance

I like the evolution of their music. Each cd grows them as a band, and it works for them. This album knocked out my previous favorite of theirs (thickfreakness).
