Free Music Review: great cd
Hit: 4 Stars

i am a HUGE fan of the Bloodhound Gang and seen them the 5 times they came to Virginia and loved there music and performance. i got this cd the day it came out and to be honest i really like it but it was missing something, i cant really tell what it is up to this day but still. this cd has 18 tracks but then its silence up to track 49 and then its the band talking about something. everyone says that "the bad touch" is what made the bloodhound gang and that its the funniest song ever and best on that cd. my opinion is that its a great song but probably my least favorite on the cd. my favorite song on this cd is either "along comes Mary" or "Mope" well anyways for those who say that the bad touch is where the bloodhound gang got famous then i got news for you, your wrong. bloodhound gang released an EP called "Dingleberry Haze" in 1994 and then cleaned it up a bit and then put most of those tracks on there first real release called "Use Your Fingers" in 1995. they werent huge then but still people knew who they were. they then released "one fierce beer coaster" in 1996 and songs off that, that were hits were "put your head up high", "fire water burn" whys everybody always pickin on me. so if you said the bad touch made them famouse then think twice. there is some pretty good rifs in here and these guys believe it or not are talented. Lupus Thunder is one of my favorite guitarist after hearing this band. out of all the released out now i would say my favorite is actually the hard to find "Dingleberry Haze". just a quick note. the bloodhound gang has a cd comming out 1 week from today and you can sample it on there website.

Free Music Review: High art? No. Enjoyable, to quote Jimmy Pop: H*** Yeah
Hit: 5 Stars

The Bloodhound gang will certainly not be confused for high art, but it's still very entertaining, and very listenable. Hooray is several years old, but can still hold it's own against some of the awful pop music being foisted upon the masses today. Most of the other reviews have given the track by track lowdown, so I won't beat a dead horse.

The Bloodhound Gang just don't take themselves too seriously, but put out the best product that they can. Very refreshing. Take a break with The Bloodhound Gang, and give your overworked brain a rest.

By the way, Yummy Down On This is probably the funniest song I've ever heard, despite what some other reviewer might have said. A sample of the first lines:
Ouch it won't reach my mouth
If I could do it myself I'd probably never leave the house
But I can't so here's where you come in
Givin' it "Diff'rent Strokes" just like Arnold Drummond
Hummin' mm mm good like Campbell's
And you'll handle the sack like the quarterback Randall
Cunningham like "Joanie Loves Chachi"
They call him Ralph Mouth 'cause he's down on Potsie

This is not a comedy band, just funny and clever, and at the risk of being gross, just call it like they see 'em. Their cover of Along Comes Mary is dead on, and bonus points if you can guess what the song is about.

Free Music Review: yay for hooray
Hit: 4 Stars

So much fun, oh so catchy, and very funny...
I love this album, there are some terrible tracks and terrible jokes, but overall it rocks pretty hard.

"I Hope You Die" is as catchy as punk-pop gets these days, and the lyrics are pretty clever I suppose (...)

"The Inevitable Return of The Great White Dope" is fun to learn the words and rap along to.

"Three Point One Four" is a CLASSIC!

"Mope" is great to listen to on crack.

"Yummy Down On This" a terrible song about oral sex. Oh dear..

"The Ballad Of Chasey Lain" excellent, obviously single material.

"Right Turn Clyde" one of my favourites, has a sick beat, nice stoner rock.

"A Lap Dance Is So Much Better When The Stripper Is Crying" dont like this one...

This is just stoner rock. Or 12-year-old rock. Or guys in their 30s finding it hilarious. It's great though, worth stealing.

Free Music Review: The guy below me has no clue what he's talking about.
Hit: 5 Stars

He says that the Bloodhound Gang became popular because of their single, "The Bad Touch," and says that they released a few more CD's, yet they had been popular WAY before The Bad Touch, and they haven't released a CD since Hooray For Boobies. And they are not a one-hit wonder, they've also had pretty good hits with songs like "Fire Water Burn" and "Mope." They are just now coming out with a new CD, and the first single, "Fox Trot Charlie Kilo," is great. I look forward to the rest of the CD.

Free Music Review: Lewd...crude...rude...hilarious
Hit: 3 Stars

Bloodhound Gang mix rock and rap on this CD with outrageous lyrics that are the most surreal I've heard since Beck (a white-trash version of him anyway). This is definitely not one for the lyrically squeamish. During the course of the CD they manage to make reference to bestiality ("I Hope You Die"), drugs ("Mope"), oral sex ("Yummy Down on This"), finding words that rhyme with portions of female anatomy ("Three Point One Four"), cross-dressing ("A Lap Dance is So Much Better when the Stripper is Crying") and a blasphemous song with the same theme as the movie "Bruce Almighty" including the phrase "But would I be a good Messiah with my low self-esteem?/If I don't believe in myself would that be blasphemy?". Add in to that a really great use of samples and cameos including porn star Chasey Lain, Homer Simpson, Falco and Pac-Man and you have an album that's a lot of fun to listen to even if it doesn't tax the gray matter a whole lot (other than to chase down the samples).

HIGHLIGHTS:
"I Hope You Die" is probably one of the best revenge fantasies since Johnny Cash's "A Boy Named Sue". Frankie Goes to Hollywood has never sounded as tough as they do on the sample in "Mope". "Ballad of Chasey Lain" is a funny take on the sort of sad character who believes they have a shot with porn actresses. "The Bad Touch" was a dancy, clever ode to 'the nasty'. An unexpected twist comes with "Along Comes Mary", a punked-up cover of the 60s tune from The Association.

LOWS:
I could really have done without "That Cough Came with a Prize" or "This is Stupid" (opera singers made to sing a ridiculous lyric..which isn't even 'stupid funny'...it's just dumb).

BOTTOM LINE:
Despite the fact that this is the sound your kids probably like, you DON'T want to get this for them. It deserves every bit of the explicit sticker...and then some. Unlike some of Blink 182's moments of toilet humour, Jimmy Pop and company pair it with wit making it one that wears fairly well over the years even if it's not a "classic" or even one you'll have in your player on a weekly basis. You either love this or hate it..borrow it from someone first. As for this 34 year old guy, I love it. For extra hijinks, visit the Website at http://www.bloodhoundgang.com
