I gotta say, I think the other reviews are wrong. I don't think this band started off as a joke or parody (maybe except for the King Bee bit on SNL). I think these guys had a real love for music like this and used their status in the entertainment biz to help out some truly american music treasures.. Their cover of Soul Man being a top 10 hit in the days of disco? Steve Jordan? Duck Dunn? Steve Cropper? These guys are masters of their craft and probably would of been playing oldies reviews on the chitlin' circuit if it wasn't for Dan and John! God bless 'em! Where I agree with every other review is I think this is hands down the best Blues Brothers record...a big influence on me!!! Highly recommended!!!!Free Music Review: The Blues Brothers

I agree with the above reviewers, but one thing I would like to add: Note Dan Aykroyd on the harmonica ("harp."). He's really, really good with that thing here. Free Music Review: Hands down best party album I've ever found

This album is superb for a party. The only bad thing about it is that it eventually ends, at which point you have a tough act to follow. Of course there's always the option of playing it again! Which seemed to be requested fairly often at our parties. The energy this album dumps into a party has to be seen to be believed.
