Free Music Notes for The Boy from Oz (2003 Original Broadway Cast)

Free Music Review: New lover of Musical Theater
Hit: 5 Stars

I just got back from New York and I saw both Wicked, The Boy from Oz, and Avenue Q on Broadway. They were so amazing, fresh and different. I hadn't seen a musical in years after being so disappointed by Cats on Broadway, (I could actually see some of them lip sinking) that turned me off. But now I am fired up about musical theater again. So much so that I bought myself singing Lesson Cds- "Voice Lessons To Go" by Vaccarino , so that I could justly sing along with my new Musical CDs. Hey if only a was a few years younger I would consider going for those broadway lights myself. Even to be in the choruses of these productions must be awesome

Free Music Review: Sensational
Hit: 5 Stars

I have bought the CD not because of Hugh Jackman first but because of the story. After I have heard the first song, I thought "Oh My God" and it lasts till tle last number. All of them are just great without one boring or bad number.
I highly recommend this cd.
And I have an anouncement to make, I hope Amazon let me do this: we started a peticion page with the request that The Boy From Oz should be released into DVD or VHS (usually they don't do it till the play is on the stage, but look just Victor/Victoria). I know that Amazon don't allow mention links so I just say the request is on every Hugh Jackman official page.

Free Music Review: Highly recommended!
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is a great way to relive the fun and glamor of the Broadway show, which was vastly underrated by the critics, with the exception of Hugh Jackman's definitive performance. I particularly liked the richly orchestrated Carole Bayer Sager/Allen song "You and Me" performed by Jackman and Beth Fowler as Peter Allen and Liza Minelli. And Isabel Keating's "Don't Wish Too Hard" is a delightful evocation of a latter day Judy Garland showstopper. As the show and the CD suggest, Allen's collaborations with women, both offstage and on, seemed to bring out his best qualities. Bravo Peter and bravo Hugh!

Free Music Review: A New Take on Peter Allen & the Rise of a New Broadway Star
Hit: 5 Stars

This comprehensive collection of Peter Allen songs is beautifully presented by the cast of "The Boy From OZ", Peter's life story currently breaking records in the Imperial Theatre in NYC.

Arranged in a biographical sequence the DC includs beautiful performances of songs that weren't sung by Liza and Judy but should have been. The cast is full voiced and fearless, especially the remarkable Mr. Jackman, Allen's fellow Aussie. Even Allen fans might here find a song or two that they didn't know belonged to Peter and in doing so they will also find a brilliant new interpreter of his music.
