Anything Hugh Jackman does is amazing. This soundtrack is no different. While Mr. Jackman had done previous stage work, this performance is nothing short of brilliant. Every song is covered in emotion thanks to his performance and the performance of an equally strong cast. Each song is powerful and wonderful to listen to again and again. I strongly recommend this soundtrack not only to theatre lovers, but to anyone who is looking for good music. Hugh Jackman shines and wins you over with this performance. Unlike many, I didn't particularly like Hugh Jackman in Oklahoma. But I bought tickets to The Boy From Oz (Jan, 2004) and purchased the cast recording. What a wonderful recording! In my opinion, it has the best music since "The Wild Party". Isabel Keating is mesmerizing as Judy Garland and Stephanie J. Block as Liza Minnelli half the time sounds like Linda Eder and the other half the time sounds like Ethel Mermann. This is a sold cast recording of songs well worth singing. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to the show.Free Music Review: Absolutely Fabulous!

Just saw The Boy From Oz Friday, 3/26, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hugh Jackman is phenomenal and the rest of the cast was amazing, as well. I purchased the CD as I left the theater and didn't have a chance to listen to it until yesterday. It brought the musical back to life and I was able to relive the musical thru the cast recording. I would have probably forgotten so many little things that made the musical so good had I not purchased this CD. Favorites include "All The Lives of Me" and "I Go to Rio".Free Music Review: Fantastic Show

I saw The Boy from Oz in July and loved it! Hugh Jackman and the entire cast were excellent. He has a fantastic voice and is a tremendous actor. Stephanie J. Block (as Liza Minnelli) and Isabel Keating (as Judy Garland) give good supporting performances that are even better seen in the theater. The songs are pop songs so they are supposed to be "loud" (I don't think they are, though) and all the voices are good. I particularly like Jackman's and Block's voices. I saw the show on Broadway and loved the music so much but I was unable to purchase the original broadway score in the UK. Hugh Jackman is sensational in the strong & emotional story of Peter Allen the Australian song writer and performer who married Liza Minnelli. Every song is fantastic and the finale Latin American number brings the house down. Buying the CD has brought it back to me and I am so glad that I could purchase it from Amazon.com hopefully the show will eventually come to London.
