Free Music Notes for Title Tk AlbumFree Music Review: Those Kooky Deal Sisters are Back Hit: 5 StarsIt's been how how many years since Last Splash? 9? Wow. Well, if you're looking for another Last Splash this isn't it. Then again if you were looking for another Pod back in '93, Last Splash wasn't that either. You see, The Breeders (as with anything connected with Kim Deal) is a band constantly in change. And Title TK is no exception. Whereas Pod was kindy folksy, Last Splash was kind of joyously exciting, Title TK is exceptionally low-key, and that appears to be just the way Kim has it planned. The first track, Little Fury contains some of the best harmonizing the sisters have done . . . the way they curl their voices around each note makes my heart melt. Full on Idle is one of my favorite Kim Deal songs of all time (it's actually a cover from her previous one-album band The Amps), here it is re-imagined and fits quite nicely into the proceedings. The last track is the kicker, though. As always Kim gives us one sing-a-long song (like Cannonball, Gigantic, Tipp City, and Hellbound before it) and Huffer is incredibly catchy. It's also incredibly funny when you suddenly realize what the song is about. Anyway, the rest of the tracks haven't quite grown on me yet, but I'm sure they will. Kim is THE musician out there, funny, nonsensical, unpretentious, and pure rock-n-rock.
