Free Music Review: The grunge era revisited...(1992 - 1997)

After the New Jack Era of 1987-1992 (think: BBD, Bobby Brown, Paula Abdul, MC Hammer), the Alternative/Grunge movement effectively supplanted pop/R&B as *the* music of choice among America's youth. Led by Nirvana and supported quickly by acts like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and the Smashing Pumpkins, Grunge was a genre primarily constructed by "underground" artists who were more or less finally brought into the spotlight by the major labels.By 1994, corporate America had figured out how to mass produce the music, and much of what you'll hear on this compilation is a result of that -- one hit wonders, more or less. However, that does not make this collection any less great to listen to. Among '94's best: "Shine" by Collective Soul, "Zombie" by the Cranberries, and "Far Behind," by Candlebox are included. Thankfully, "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?" by heavyweights R.E.M. makes the cut along with that fluke of a single, "You Get What You Give" by The New Radicals.
Be sure to get the two-disc version -- that also includes tracks by Blind Melon ("No Rain"), Counting Crows ("Mr. Jones") and one of my favorite songs of all time, "Fade Into You," by Mazzy Star. 94-95 were some of the best years for this music...Stone Temple Pilots' 'Purple' album anyone?

Free Music Review: "The Buzz" - Generic Version of "The Buzz" One CD...??

I recently purchased "The Buzz" on Amazon as many probably did to save money as opposed to buying the one sold on TV and at MusicSpace.com, assuming it was the same 2 Set Music CD "WRONG"...!This CD from Amazon, even has Musicspace.com stamped on the back of it, it also has "As Seen on TV" on the front of the Jewel Case. What a rip off! The way I see it, they should state that it is not the same version "As Seen on TV" very clearly to the consumer. I cannot believe they advertise this CD as if were the same 2 CD set as the one on Television. I will be sending it back and demanding my money back. I have never seen nor do I believe this "The Buzz" Music CD version has ever been advertised on TV ever! This is gaining profit from consumers under false pretences in my opinion. I feel as if Amazon is purposely deceiving their customers with this version of this Music CD. In my opinion, this is nothing more than a hoax, and a scam. I will most likely never do business with Amazon.com anymore; this is the second bad experience within the past couple of months for me buying from Amazon.com.

Free Music Review: Great songs, but where's the 2nd cd?

Let me start out by saying that this is an awesome cd withb a great variety of songs. But, if you were one of the many who saw the comercial for this cd on tv, you might have noticed that it was 2 cds that were included. The cd that's on Amazon includes only one. You have to buy it on tv if you want both because stores won't stock this for awhile. The one on Amazon has a few great ones like Zombie by the Cranberries, What it's like, and many more. Each is a great tune. On tv they want 27.00 for it! What a rip-off! I'll settle for the one on Amazon for now, and will buy the 2nd when it comes out in stores. They do not tell you that there is only 1 CD when there's supposed to be 2. If I would've known, I would've at least liked to have a choice of which CD I wanted. And $15.00 for one CD is NOT a deal afterall.Free Music Review: Buyer Beware

Seller's do not disclose to the buyer that this is only one disc in the set. Many will think it's a great deal, but buying one cd brand new for $15 and not getting the whole set is not a deal. Buyer beware.
