Free Music Notes for Whisper WarFree Music Review: Boy-band Pop meets more Pop-Rock Hit: 3 StarsThe Cab comes from the same label as Fallout Boy, so you wouldn't be shocked to hear similarities in their music. Having said that, The Cab is definitely Pop-Rock. The description of The Cab's sound by other reviewers on this site are pretty spot-on. Through the first few tracks you might think this album was the love child of NSYNC and any number of pop-rock bands. However, any comparisons to Maroon 5 is a little weak (Maroon 5 have a much "funkier" Pop-RNB vibe, whereas The Cab is more akin to Fallout Boy's "Dance Dance").
This isn't necessarily a bad thing. Just be warned, The Cab's Whisper War skews towards the younger crowd. Did I mention it's pop-rock? Listen to "I'll Run" and "Take My Hand" for catchy tracks with solid vocals. Personally, I prefer the tracks where The Cab is more rock and less bounce.
Free Music Review: Caught by suprise Hit: 5 StarsThis cd is very impressive. I've been looking for something original lately and this fit the bill quite nicely.
It sounds like a mix of Panic at the Disco and Maroon 5 to me, which is cool
Take a listen
Free Music Review: Why haven't you bought this yet? Hit: 5 StarsSO as far as debut albums go, this rocks. Sure there is alot of collaboration by one P. Stump and Brendon might have spent enough hours with the band to mind meld, but it's all their noise.
Rather than change the music if gives it a hint of each, and creates a great vibe. The songs themselves hold up a pop-rock vibe, but the heavy piano and light on the drums gives it a "dark night in vegas" kinda feel. The lyrics are awesome "checkered thighs on a pretty pawn" and take my hand is just crowning achivement. Vegas skies is heavy, but like holding you to the earth heavy. nails in your feet. And this city is contagious is a perfect send off. The back-up vocals and overall tone of the piece seems to say, "you're crazy if you think we're done" or something.
i feel in love with these boys, over grainey MP3s from live performances, and studio pieces with the songs barely audiable. It's the feeling and draw of the words and the total abscene of weak songs that makes this album wonderful. (then again what is a weak song?)
They have an energy and wholeness that works it's way through every line and key strike.
Free Music Review: its more like a loud roar Hit: 5 Starswith Whisper War, The Cab have firmly implanted themselves in the music scene and with this excellently done debut cd and loads of touring. I know people will be hearing more and more from them in the future.
This cd is an energetic, fun filled romp that grabs you and takes you on a ride filled with great lyrics, vocals and sound from start to finish. With tracks such as:
One of Those Nights
Bounce
I'll Run (one of my favs)
High Hopes In Velvet
That '70s Song (another)
Take My Hand (another)
Risky Business
Zzzzz (you guessed it)
Can You Keep A Secret?
Again the whole cd minus the closing song which was cool but not really memorable. Its just a very well done cd that the band and the label obviously took a great deal of timing putting together and its very evident throughout. The Cab are about the music and in it for the long haul and i wish them much success and i feel they will have many more fans when its all said and done.
Whisper War is a blast to listen to great replay value and it doesn't get old no matter how times you listen to it. 5 stars
