Free Music Notes for Camino PalmeroFree Music Review: Unstoppable
okay so like everybody else, I got into this CD because of the debut single. I also realise that this CD was out ages ago but even though I've had it for over a year, I have to review it. This is a stunning debut that makes me look forward to the next album, out in a few months. After weeks of anticipation, finally getting to hear this album was like being told i could breathe after being submerged in water for an hour! The CD opens with unstoppable, a slow burning ballad that has singer Alex Band begging for a connection to be made. At first I loved this song, it's no longer on of my favourites but it sets the tone for the album beautifully. Nothing's Changed is a story of retrebution and redemption, the story of some one who is never good enough, the black sheep and it transports you back to the days of the likes of Zeppellin and classic rock. the breath-taking WYWG deals with the aftermath of loss, of wanting to go with the person you've lost, a theme shared by Could it Be Any Harder, which is about Alex's mother leaving when he was a litlle boy, i challenge anyone to listen to this song and not be moved. Final Answer is a painstaking, harsh look at the mistakes made during a relationship and trying to see if they can be fixed. Adirenne is again, not one of my favourites but really, it's a classic break-up song, gone is the heartfelt sorrow and regret and in place, a thirst for revenge, something we have all wanted at some stage. One of the highlight's of the album for me is track 7, We're Forgiven, a close look at the hypocrisy of the modern world, even of the songwriters, Things Don't Always Turn Out That Way is not a favourite among the band but really, it has a great chorus that tells it like it is, life isn't always what you want. Just That Good, a track that was on the demo to get TC signed, takes a look at the greed people have, the life people want and their obsession with material things and with public image. Thank You is a uplifting song to wash away the pain that covers much of the album, this is an uplifting album with a clear message, be grateful for what you've got. guitarist Aaron Kamin really flexes his muscles on this track on on the final song the slow burning melodic Stigmatized. i have to say that this song is probably one of my favourite songs of all time. it is not as some people have said, about a gay relationship, not specifically. this song is for anyone who has ever been judged unfairly because they are different, be that relioion, sexuality, you're dating the 'wrong' person...this song is saying 'srew you i'm going to do what i want to do and we're going to do what we want to do' those are the words of Alex Band who shows just what a performer he is on this track. throughout the entire album, Band shows himself to have an amazing voice and a scincerity that runs deep. when this man sings, you know he believes what he is singing, his voice draws you in and when combined with the skillful guitar work of Kamin, most people are going to be lost to the calling, without a doubt. Kamin plays some mean guitar on this amazing debut, when you hear the guitar, you hear a love of the music. this is not the best CD you will ever buy, but it will come pretty damn close, there is something on here for everyone and there will be something about every song that you will love. Sure Alex looks like he belongs in a boyband and no, it's not exactly Nirvana but make no mistake about this, The Calling are a ROCK band and they are here to stay. the fact that this CD, most of it anyway, was written when they were teenagers (Alex 15, Aaron 19 when JTG and Stigmatized were written)shows a rare talent that in time, will make this band one of the most amazing bands on the planet. this album shows talent, potential and great ability. the calling are never going to be a huge band that everyone loves but that just makes you all the luckier to own this album, you will have something that the majority of the world chose to ignore, a masterpiece
