I saw the play in New York, and then purchased the soundtrack approximately 10 months after seeing it. There are some tracks that stand out for me more than others like "Push Da Button", "Hell No" and "is there anything else I can do for you", but overall this is a good CD.Free Music Review: This album is a must have. Live singing.

I must admit, I haven't had the time to listen to every track but the ones I have heard, I love. My favorite so far is the Color Purple. I always sing this one out loud. It's a lengthy album, which is good because you get more for your money. This is one for the collection.

I recently saw the Color Purple in New York and this is the best Broadway Play that I have ever seen and I saw 2 more this weekend. Please note the Music on this CD is second to none! The voices on this CD will send chills through your body! If you have seen the play -then listening to the music will cause you to relive the span of emotions that you experienced during the Play. If you have not seen The Color Purple's live stage performance --- you will enjoy the toe tapping, hand clapping music combined with voices that will awaken the spirit.
Please note that the music is extraordinary but I would absolutely recommend that you make a trip to New York to see The Color Purple Live!!! I am purchasing more copies and this will be my "Gift on Hand" for 2007...
