Free Music Notes for 4:13 Dream

Free Music Review: into the stars
Hit: 5 Stars

a truly hypnotic and dreamy soundscape that pulls you in delightfully and does not let you go until the end. I place this one in the league of Pornography and Disintegration (but then it goes so far beyond both): a sumptuous and fulfilling epic journey that entertains and satisfies deeply.

The diverse songs are a nice combination of upbeat, surreal, dark/macabre, and enlightening. The songwriting is strong and there is newfound energy that excites dramatically well. Anyone who caught their recent tour bore witness to the fact that Smith and company are as fresh as anything being performed in arenas worldwide. They remain at the cutting edge!

The Cure tap into a seemingly infinite creative wellspring and mine those miraculous, golden aural gems to which your eager brain has been waiting intensely to merge.

Hypnagogic, indeed.

Free Music Review: True Cure fans will tell you this album is McLovin.
Hit: 5 Stars

Does the echo bother you? Have you ever seen the cure live? You'll know that this album is worth having in your stereo. The cure are better than they ever have been right now. The old songs are better, and the new songs here are better written. Take a moment and consider the structure of these songs and you might realize that it is changed from old cure.

Underneath the stars, Freakshow, The real snow white, The hungry ghost, sleep when I'm dead, and It's over make up my favorite half of the album.

4:13 is better than Bloodflowers or Cure on songwriting, but lacks some of the qualities found on those albums. That's the cure. Every album is unique.

Free Music Review: finally, to breath again...
Hit: 5 Stars

I never was really able to bond with the self titled album from 2004. And I had almost given up hope that I would feel the way I used to feel when first listening to a new Cure album. But this one is truly inspiring. Underneath the Stars opens the album somewhere between Open and Plainsong. The Reasons Why and The Hungry Ghost bring you back to pre-Head on the Door times while maintaining their own new sound. The Scream could've been placed somewhere on Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me. Don't get me wrong: this isn't textbook-heard it all before-Cure... 4:13 Dream has maintained what has always been great about The Cure, while creating a whole new world to get lost in.

Free Music Review: Outstanding Cure
Hit: 5 Stars

Reading the many reviews, good and bad, suffice to say everyone has their own opinion, and I am just yet another small voice mixed within - I do insist that their latest effort is a masterpiece in disguise. It takes several listens to appreciate its diversity and surreal beauty - not at all for the casual Cure fan. If you're expecting Kiss me Kiss me 2, or Disintegration 2, then skip this and keep on listening to their old albums. Why leave bad reviews for new material because it doesn't appeal in the same way as the older stuff do? Forget everything they've ever done, and just enjoy this for what it is - a beautiful, original piece from the heart.

Free Music Review: A cure for the ages
Hit: 5 Stars

With the cure framework beautifully in place this stripped-down, elegantly executed album is the best in many years from this band. Their previous couple of albums had Robert Smith in top artistic form but the density washed out the execution to some extent. Bloodflowers was great but the beauty of a Cure song has always been in its simplicity and top to bottom every song on 4:13 is pure pop goth beautiful.

Incredible and wonderful that ever since 1976 Robert Smith has been able to keep this band still moving forward.
