Free Music Notes for The Cure - Greatest HitsFree Music Review: Great compilation for new fans ! Hit: 4 StarsStop crying please ! Of course this is not the ultimate greatest hits from Robert Smith and friends. This is not the goal, neither.
This kind of album is a retrospective of a band, not an anthology. So, the choice of songs is great considering that you are not a big fan of the band. If so, buy a box set or the best albums from the 80s. Same thing if you want to explore the overall creative sense of Robert Smith.
If you heard a bit about The Cure before, but you don't want to pay to hear all songs, good and bad, (you just want to discover a bit more about the great songs they wrote), this is for you. I knew 2 or 3 hits from the band and bought this album because I was curious about other songs. I discovered great hits and another aspect of Smith's creativity. The sound is great, the CD duration is OK with 16 songs (some greatest hit albums offer much less), and the overall playlist is a good choice of old, newer and different kind of rythms and lyrics (happiness, sadness, love, you'll get a great mix of atmosphere.) You like the 80s and you know a few nice songs from this band, but you want to know a bit more for a great value....this is a MUST for your CD collection.
Free Music Review: The cure Hit: 5 StarsThe cure is one of the best bands from any time. They are very meaningful and deep. And Robert Smiths voice is so dark and luring. And it's great music to sing to...right Lor?
Free Music Review: Great band... Hit: 5 StarsNot only is The Cure one of the best bands but they also have a talented singer. Robert Smith has been out snice the 70s, and still is playing music to this day. He sounds the same, he looks the same. Any band that can stay play at his age must be very strong and a great musican.
Free Music Review: Awesome collection of superb songs Hit: 5 StarsIt's amazing to think this band has been around for nearly 30 years now.
This album really showcases their amazing talent.
The amount of brilliant songs is astounding from " Boys don't cry " to " Lullaby " From " Love Cats" to " Friday I'm in love "
Always a good sign for me is if I don' skip any tracks and that's cetainly the case here.
Just one great song after another.
If you're not a hardcore Cure fan, then this is the perfect place to start your association with this highly underated band.
A terrific album!
Free Music Review: Solid Greatest Hits Compilation Hit: 4 StarsThe tracks chosen are The Cure's more up-tempo, high energy pop songs. Perhaps this will not satisfy the hardcore fan, but I think the tracks on this CD are well chosen for those who are not acquainted with The Cure's body of work or didn't grow up listening to alternative music in the 80's. Not a good retrospective compilation, but a solid greatest hits collection. It has a good choice of songs to introduce The Cure to a new generation.
