I have mixed feelings about the CD/DVD package included in "Document"... On the one hand, I thought the DVD was interesting enough, if only for the fact that you get to hear John Lee (Amy's father) version of the beginnings of Evanescence. In my opinion, this alone was worth the price of the item. One thing that did bug me about the video documentary was that none of the music you can hear in-between interviews and commentary segments is by Evanescence! From what I could gather, the music is from unknown bands who evolved in the same scene that Amy Lee and Ben Moody did when they were growing up and developing as artists in Little Rock, Arkansas. The rest of the interviews on the DVD reflect this as well, since they are all people who claim to have known Amy and Ben during that period, which is most likely why their comments were included. Amy Lee and Ben Moody (or any other band members past or present, for that matter) are nowhere to be seen, though. It should also be noted that the vast majority of the documentary covers the period preceding the recording of "Fallen" up to the time of Ben Moody's departure from the band. The future of Evanessence is only speculated upon, with different people expressing different opinion as to whom, of Amy or Ben, is most likely to succeed in the long run.

The CD, on the other hand, was a major disappointment. Certainly, there were a couple of interviews I had not heard before, but all the rest were audio interviews that had been ripped from video interviews which are readily available for free on major fansites and streaming video websites. This, as I see it, makes the CD part of this document a bit of a rip-off, no pun intended.

Overall, I don't regret purchasing this item, but I would not recommend it unless you are a die-hard fan.
