Free Music Notes for Live In BostonFree Music Review: Morrison Lives! Hit: 5 Stars
This is absolutely live and absolutely great Doors!
I saw them later this same year at the Univerity of Wisconsin and this dual show on an April day in Boston was by far the better show. There are several priceless gems in the new Doors series of live shows and the Detroit and Philadelphia shows are always great. It is amazing how the same songs can be so different at different shows, a testament to the improvisational abilities of the greatest rock band in history.
Free Music Review: Truth is... Hit: 5 Stars
Yeah Jim was drunk but mostly for the first show. By the second show rolled around he was in top form. This recording is for both shows and the second show recording shows he is sobered up. I was at both these shows and the first show was horrible with a drunk Jim rambling and forgetting lyrics etc. The rest of the Doors were very patient. Because the first show ran so long the second show ran past curfew and the cops came and turned the lights on. Doors never finished their set.
Free Music Review: Great music despite sub-par Morrison Hit: 5 Stars
I always was a fan of the music more than the Morrison vocals so the criticism I've read about him being drunk through most of these songs doesn't apply to my rating. The music here is just great as they jam and improvise throughout. They had a unique sound that's never been duplicated. Morrison was not as bad as some of the reviews indicate. I could do without the vulgarity that was left in. It is insignificant and adds nothing to the CD.

Free Music Review: I was there! Hit: 5 Stars
I was actually at the early show presented on this set and had to buy the CD to relive the memory of the best concert I've ever attended to this day. I still tell friends about how drunk Jim was and some of the things he said between songs so it's a thrill to now have it all documented. This time capsule is one of the best gifts a record company has ever produced, as far as I'm concerned.
