Free Music Review: As We Stumble Along
Hit: 5 Stars

This show was an ispiration to me and it makes you realize wat musicals do to us; bring us into another world and the music is brilliant and very whitty. This show is the most creative show and the most entertainment i have ever seen. Being in a theater class i have learned a lot of musicals, acting, and various shows, but this is so far the best show i have ever knew. the music is not horrible and the show is no waste. It is a creative masterpiece that will be on broawdway for a looooong time. Bob Martin was amazing on stage and his writing is as well. Beth Leavel was brilliant and Danny Burstein is one heck of a guy. He took his part and made it the funniest character in the show. Sutton Foster had an amazing charm that pulls you into her act. This show will never be forgotten, and no because it was bad (for some of u), but because it was brilliant. It deserved that 6th award at the Tonys.

Free Music Review: This Album's always Lovely in the End... and Every Other Part.
Hit: 5 Stars

Just fun. I must admit something though; I saw the Broadway musical first (hilarious, by the way) and the soundtrack doesn't completely do the show justice. The dancing is just as important as the music in some of the songs. The "Toledo Surprise" bit when the record in the show skips is HILARIOUS in person (the dancing makes it seem a little epileptic), and even though it's still fun in the soundtrack, it just doesn't have the same "umph."

But still, "Brides Lament" is one of the funniest songs I've ever heard. "Monkey monkey monkey..."

Excellent soundtrack. You'll find yourself humming a lot of these tunes, especially with showstopping numbers such as "Show Off," "As We Stumble Along," and "Toledo Surprise." Buy it now! You won't regret it.

Free Music Review: Fun Recording!
Hit: 4 Stars

The Drowsy Chaperone is supposed to be a send up of the mindless musicals of the 20's and early 30's and I think a lot of reviewers have missed the point. It's not Sondheim, but its not supposed to be. I really enjoyed this. Its fun. Clever and mindless at the same time. Sutton Foster, Georgia Engel and the rest of the cast shine. Allthough there isnt a standout song, there are plenty of hummable ones: As We Stumble Along; Show Off; Accident Waiting to Happen and Toledo Surprise. The sticking effect is a funny addition to the recording, I thought it was real the first time I heard it. I think this deserves better reviews than its received, but I enjoyed it and think you will too. If you collect Broadway Cast recordings, its definitely a keeper.

Free Music Review: Not The Worst Score Ever - Still A Yawnfest
Hit: 2 Stars

Broadway has produced so much great and memorable music over the years ... even from bad shows. "The Drowsy Chaperone" is a fairly entertaining show, but the score never rises much above mediocrity. There are ceratinly worse scores out there, but to have been awarded a Tony for Best Score should merit something much better than this. Yawn.

Free Music Review: Pleasant surprise
Hit: 5 Stars

I was lucky enough to see this show before it went to Broadway and thought is was one of the most clever musicals I have ever seen. It is a tribute and tongue-in-cheek send up on the old-style musicals. What I like about the CD is the breadth of talent (It highlights all of the different characters) and how each song was interesting unto itself. The CD captures the whole show's heart and soul. It really helps me relive my theatrical experience.
