Free Music Notes for Electric ArgumentsFree Music Review: Fabulous McCartney Hit: 5 Stars
This is one of the best CDs in a while ,I bought this with the new U2 cd and tell you what I keep coming back to the firmen its great and way superior in all aspects.
All this negative McCartney stuff runs away like water off a ducks back to me.
McCartney has and always will dictate his own style and pace, with the body of work he has out there nobody can touch ,just think about the songs he has given and still is putting great stuff out there, and most of the negative rewiers cannot write a one line email let alone a song!
PutItThere McCartney u are untouchable!
Free Music Review: A supremely great surprise Hit: 5 Stars
I always find one or two songs extremely beautiful on any McCartney record, but this is the best since "Flowers in the Dirt," and that sure says a lot. The song structures are intricate without being cloying or annoying, the melodies haunt, the playing is superlative, and the production and density of sound are just what the doctor ordered. This is something else. I also think it's a lot of fun that McCartney only took a generation plus to discover what the heck John and Yoko were doing all those years ago with sonic landscapes. Guess we all follow our own path to Yoko.
Free Music Review: The fire alarm is going off again!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this cd expecting the worse, but was pleasently surprised at what Paul McCartney here has to offer. I never knew about his other two Fireman cds, less alone never heard any music from them and now I read that they are hard to find and are collectors items! That is the real reason I bought this in the first place and I'm a big fan as well! But the music stands up, I enjoyed it immensely! I thought it would just be a shelf burner but in all reality, I'll be giving this one a listen all too often! Now I need the story why he is using the name of Fireman???
Free Music Review: Paul's best album...really Hit: 5 Stars
I'm sure most people will point to Band on the Run as Paul's best, but for me, this is the one album that I can listen to from start to finish without skipping tracks or fast forwarding. The whole album has such a cool, loose groove. There are some great individual tracks, of course, such as Nothing Too Much Just Out of Sight (which he sings the crap out of)and Sing the Changes. And those last 5 tracks, from Lifelong Passion through Don't Stop Running---it's just the coolest music he's done since...ever? Yeah, Paul, let your freak flag fly! I love this!!
Free Music Review: The old Mac is back Hit: 5 Stars
It is amazing that Paul McCartney, as good as he is, is always better with a foil, in this case Youth. This CD was an amazing surprise when I first heard snippets when it came out. To hear him explore and at times command electronica gives my Beatle spirit a boost-they were always exploring new concepts and ideas, and most times they worked, like they do here. Favorite tunes include Traveling Light and Light from Your Lighthouse. I have not heard his other confabs with Youth in detail, but now I'm intrigued. This is the most accessible so far.
