Free Music Notes for The Fountain

Free Music Review: moved
Hit: 5 Stars

My first viewing of this film had me wanting a rational explanation for the plot, symbolic imagery, and the scientific basis for the science fiction part of it, i.e. medical research and mode of space travel. I'm not one to totally diss a movie just because I don't understand it. The soundtrack however made it clear to me that this movie leaves that an open-ended question given certain factual inaccuracies. It evokes deep emotion and suggests a quest for something lost or unattainable. The haunting melody and ambiance still resonates in my mind in the midst of dull everyday reality.

Free Music Review: Great soundtrack, great album
Hit: 5 Stars

The Fountain, even if a bit too abstract at times for my taste, is a stunning and beautifully made film, and one that is very worth seeing. And one of the things that make it so special is its amazing soundtrack, which complements the visual and emotional beauty of the film perfectly. Well, it turns out that the music works really well as a standalone album too. In fact, it's some of the best instrumental music I own. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves beautiful music, even those who haven't seen the film or who don't ordinarily listen to film scores.

Free Music Review: Good stuff
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm a pathetic Clint Mansell fanboy so I'm probably more than a little biased, but this is really well engineered from start to finish. Each instrument stands out with superb clarity, yet they all integrate extremely well. The strings are the obvious stars of the show, but I especially like the way the drums were recorded--if they used a reverb plugin to get that sound, it was an amazingly good one. My only complaint is that the entire thing is only like 45 minutes long. I liked the film as well, but the music really sells it for me.

Free Music Review: The movie wasn't perfect but the score is.
Hit: 5 Stars

Less in your face than Mansell's brillant(and much used in commercials nowadays)score to Requiem for a Dream this is still a great score and another great use of Kronos Quartet.Subtle and haunting at first it builds to an exhilerating climax in the soaring Death is the road to Awe.You don't even have to own the movie to enjoy the hypnotic journey this music takes you on.Most film scores merely get the job done serving up emotional cues(Chase!Love!) but this scoe trancends the ordinary and is really something special.

Free Music Review: Soundtrack is excellent!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I have never heard music from Clint Mansell before, but after listening to this soundtrack, I want to hear other compositions from him. The music is so soothing and ethereal. I floated away during the movie. The movie was superb also, I highly recommend it, but the music stays with you long after the movie is over. I begged my husband to get me the soundtrack and it has played nonstop since it arrived. We go to sleep to it, wake up to it, and spend our day captivated by every note.
