This score reminds me of certain parts of Alberto Iglesias's score for Sex and Lucia. Also it is reminiscent of the Solaris score in mood though the Solaris score is more alien in sound while this score seems a little warmer to me. Deeply melancholy, ethereal and emotional at its core, it is unique and powerful and fits the film perfectly. It is one of the best scores of the year. As beautiful and moving as the film it compliments.Free Music Review: Excellent

If you like Vangelis' music (especially the music from 1492 and Blade Runner), you will appreciate this music. I am not saying that the music is the same or that it would be confused with Vangelis, but it certainly shares the 'epic' feel that Vangelis is able to convey. Although I agree with other reviewers that the music can stand on its own, seeing the movie first is essential if you want to enjoy the album.Free Music Review: Absolutely Amazing!

After hearing Requiem for Dream, I instantly became a fan of Mansell and Kronos. With beautiful melodies and an almost dark allure, this soundtrack is no exception. Its absolutely amazing. I have listened to this cd everyday since I bought it about 3 weeks ago. Its highly addictive, and a great addition to any soundtrack collection.
Highly Recommended for anyone into MUSIC at all. Great product.

I have to confess, I did not like the film. It was bizarre, slow, confusing, and painfully artsy. But even while watching THE FOUNTAIN and being annoyed with it, I was captivated by the music.
Now I have the soundtrack CD and just listening to it even the first time through it is absolutely mesmerizing. One of the very best soundtracks I own, second only to Brian Tyler's CHILDREN OF DUNE.

The music is so gorgeous, it makes the movie seem all that more beautiful and romantic. The soundtrack gives the feeling of an inspiration of hope--especially important to us who feel that they're living in dark times. Sometimes the soundtrack is invigorating, sometimes melancholy, but always soothing to my soul-- and to anyone who loves life and chooses to see the beauty in the world around them.
