Free Music Notes for Good the Bad & The Queen

Free Music Review: melancholy and lovely
Hit: 5 Stars

I tend to listen to any CD that gets hype (excluding particularly vapid and offensive pop music) and this one was quite a revalation. I have since gotten into Blur (a little late i know) and plan to listen to some gorillaz as well :)
This album has a singular thrust that suggests a sort of 'overcastness' which evokes, for this yankee, what my cursory experience of london was like, and yet the music is quite fresh, with the inclusion of interesting rythms and brightened by some modern keyboard as well.
If you like Blur (specifically the vocals) stop reading this right now and buy this album!

Free Music Review: Set It Straight
Hit: 5 Stars

This won't be long! Basically, this is one of the most creative and beautiful CD's I've heard in a long time. As a matter of fact, I'm trying really hard not to call it genius. If rock 'n' roll is about concept and conviction, well here's both.
For anybody that thinks this record is boring, don't loose hope! There's always the next season of "The Simple Life" or maybe even the next Lindsay Lohan album. We don't need tone-deaf musical retards to be on our side when it comes to someone like Damon Albarn. You couldn't possibly understand the depth of it.

Free Music Review: Weird...but awesome!
Hit: 5 Stars

If you are a Gorillaz fan and like that strange, yet awesome sound that they produce you will like the Good, the Bad, and the Queen. Although they aren't exactly like them, they are along the right track. If you are looking for music along the lines of Blur, this is not the CD for you, just because they were formed by Damon Albarn, doesn't mean that they are Blur. Also, don't expect it to be a Clash CD... Paul Simonom, does play good bass, but doesn't imitate the Clash.

Free Music Review: Albarn does it again
Hit: 5 Stars

Once again, Damon Albarn has created an amazing band; first with the Gorillaz, now this great new band with Paul Simonon and their drummer, Tony. This first album, which has hit songs (already!) Herculean and Kingdom of Doom. However, listen to the whole album, not just these two songs, 'cause all the songs are great. It's a British album, but it's a hit everywhere. A must-have for Gorillaz and Blur fans.

Free Music Review: Boring? I think not.
Hit: 5 Stars

There is so much going on in each one of these songs that over repeated listens the songs change, the melodys change, the whole landscape of the album changes.I was never a big fan of Blur, but I loved the Clash and Fela Kuti, so I took and chance with this one and I love it. My daughter, who does not like slow songs, loves this c.d.. so how anybody could call it boring is beyond me.
