Free Music Notes for The Heroin Diaries SoundtrackFree Music Review: The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack Hit: 5 StarsI enjoyed the CD so much because it seems like a new mix to an old sound that catches you. And it goes well with the book with out trying to reach~
Free Music Review: Along with the Book a story everyone should hear and read Hit: 5 StarsThis cd along with the book Heroin Diaries tell an amazing tale of the rock star life style. A must have set for fans of Rock, sometimes a disturbing tale with a light at the end of the tunnel.. What a talented group of artist.
Free Music Review: This is the most honest & rockin' soundtracks ever made. Hit: 5 StarsI am an avid reader that lives for music, so this soundtrack...to a book...is simply genius, as is Nikki Sixx! The soundtrack gives you a musical journey that was (and at times is) his life. There is such pain and misery, recovery, and healing, as well as major deception, truth, and becoming truly humbled by all. The music on the soundtrack is this complex, intricate, and brutal, after all... it wouldn't rock if it wasn't! A true 1/2 of a magnum opus, by Nikki & those that lent a hand, (with both 1/2's), job well done!
Free Music Review: Great Album Hit: 5 StarsIf not the best album Nikki Sixx has written, at least in his top three. Like fine wine, only get's better and better. Not just for Motley fans...
The biggest tragedy is there will most likely never be a sophomore release from this triad.
Free Music Review: Blown Away Indeed Hit: 5 StarsOk, so I'm not a music critic, I can barely pick out the different instruments as I hear them, and I have little knowledge of Nikki Sixx's history with Motley Crue so I'm probably the least qualified person to give a review except to say that when all the parts come together, the music, the lyrics, & the emotion, it's dramatic, intense, haunting, and insanely good. Seriously, this is one of the best rock CDs I've heard in a long time, and I mean the entire CD. I can't get enough of it.
I know I'm a little late to the table; this CD's been out for nearly two years and I've only just heard the entire CD. My first impression: it felt like I was listening to a really dark Broadway play; a rock opera... and it gets better every time I listen. The music is pure hard rock, loud, orchestral in parts, and thoroughly enjoyable. Some of the songs have a demented carnival sound to them - LOVE it! The lyrics touch you. They seem to be brutally honest and not sugar-coated. And the singing... where has this lead singer been? James Michael is outstanding in both the studio & live versions. All three members of the band are incredible and seem to gel really well together. Collectively, you can feel the range of emotions in the songs, from joy to despair. It's a pleasure to listen to this CD and I'm sure I won't get tired of it any time soon. I hope they do a follow up. Even without the back story, the music is exceptional.
