Free Music Review: It's got gumption!

"The Holiday" is an uplifting movie, and the film score is equally as delightful. This is one of those feel-good CDs that is guaranteed to put the listener in a happy mood, no matter what. I'm particularly fond of the main theme, "Maestro;" "Dream Kitchen," which reminds me of some music from the soundtrack to "The Thomas Crown Affair" (the 1999 version); "Definitely Unexpected," a sexy and flirty little number; "Busy Guy," which is basically a reprise of "Definitely Unexpected;" "For Nancy," a jazzy and cute tune; "Kiss Goodbye," which is slightly bittersweet at first but then extremely fiery and passionate; "Three Musketeers," a mellow and sentimental melody; "Gumption," which is invigorating and spirited (and also incorporates the melody that Jack Black's character wrote for Arthur in the film); and "Cry," the traditional happy ending song. The Holiday is my new favorite film - always coming away from it (yes, I've seen it at least 10 times now) feeling warm and fuzzy! Not only is the musical score brilliant (yes-I bought the CD as well) but the script, direction, acting and cinematography are all a treat for the senses.
I LOVE the cast - brilliant and perfect for this movie - especially with the character played by Eli Wallach. The young ladies playing the daughters of Jude Law's character are so precious and NOT precocious or affected, and handle their roles expertly. I wanted to pick them up and give a warm hug to each of them.
The end of the movie has a warm and happy flavor to it - and NOT a final answer as to where, when, how or what the characters will finally end up doing - just a joyous close to the movie!

I've seen this movie like about 5 times, its a wondefull romance movie.
Kate Winslet, Jack Black, Cameron Diaz and of course Jude Law are
way out of class in this movie.
The soundtrack is wonderfull as well, I've heard already a million times. It is a very beautiful arrangement and it goes perfect with the movie drama. It makes you remember every part of the movie. And it was well written for the movie. Perfect for Hanz Zimmer. I give it 5 stars to both.

Hans Zimmer is a genus! I love the movie, and the music was perfect! The music fits so well. If you have seen the movie, then just hear the music, you are back in the movie again! I especially loved Cry!
I highly recommend this sound track if you have seen the movie. If you have not seen the movie - what are you waiting for - it's wonderful! :)

The music from The Holiday was better than I expected. It doesn't play all the songs from the movie such as Winter Wonderland or You Send Me.It has the music composed by Hans Zimmer. If you loved the movie, the minute this music starts you will be able to visualise each scene. It's great to listen to this album as background music when you need to relax.
