Free Music Notes for Goodbye BluesFree Music Review: Love It Hit: 5 StarsI am a huge fan of the Hush Sound. They have a mellow sound (hence "hush" sound), and the heavy use of piano and mingling of Bob's and Greta's voices are charming, as they always are. Greta's voice is amazing - it's what got me hooked on the Hush Sound to begin with. I am so glad this album was made because they were close to just not making it at all. Great album, great songs. Some of my favorites are "Honey," "The Boys are Too Refined," and "Not Your Concern."
Free Music Review: Love the sound - Greta's voice has matured Hit: 5 StarsAt first I expected Like Vines, but Greta sounds less airy & light, more mature or deeper, or something. Like review above it took me a bit, but now after listening for a day or so I'm totally enjoying this cd. I also found that watching the video for Honey (look on their MySpace) was extremely enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend this cd to all!
Free Music Review: Goodbye Blues!! Hit: 4 Starsthis cd is soo good. i think there should have been more bob songs though. bob morris is amazing! i like greta too, though. i think her voice has gotten a lot better since so sudden. their sound in general has matured as well. great great cd, but like vines is still my favorite.
Free Music Review: Absolutely terrific... Hit: 5 StarsAmazing album, was expecting a junior jinx with their 3rd release but this is nothing short of mesmerizing. Takes a couple of listens to fully appreciate it's goodness, but what album isn't like that. Is not as good as Like Vines, but is great in its own respect and nothing could ever top that album. Notable tracks are "Honey", "Medicine Man", "Hurricane", "As You Cry", "Six (interlude)", "Not Your Concern", "Hospital Crawl Bed". Can't wait to see them live...
Free Music Review: and hello good times Hit: 5 StarsI continue to be impressed by the Hush Sound with their 3rd release Goodby Blues. It seems like the group just continues to make its claim as one of the bands to watch out for. It's easy to see they are far different from the norm. For one they have 2 vocalists (male/female) that's not something you get everyday from some of the other bands out there. When you hear a song by them you feel almost a part of it. It kind of draws you in and makes you a part of the whole process. Plus they are excellent writers. Its a very, very solid cd overall more so the first half to the 2nd half. But even that is only a slight quibble to a release that is sure to make more noise and gets folks attention.
The Hush Sound are anything but quite on this release and it will only win them over new fans and critics alike. Excellent release overall from track 1 (interlude) to track 13 coming in at just over 40 minutes. It's more than enough without overwhelming the listener and can be enjoyed many times over.
