I didnt buy their previous album "Body Kiss" because I didnt like the sound they came out with (To much R. Kelly). However on this release, they ditched Kelly minus 1 track and worked with J.D. and others to bring a current but classic Isley brothers sound. I also agree with the other reviewer, the title of this album doesnt fit many of the songs.
When I heard "Just Came Here To Chill" on the radio , i thought it was just OK, but know that i have the CD, I have it on repeat. Ron just wails over this track and it sounds perfect.
The real gem of the album is the closer "You Help Me Write This Song". Slow beat, resounding keyboard siren and gutiar, this is classic Isley brothers. I just cant stop playing this song. Ron has a way of singing love songs and making them sound sad and sexy at the same time like Toni Braxton and this song delivers.
Other tracks that are worth listening to include, Gotta Be With You, Forever Mackin, Pretty Woman and Beautiful.
I must say that ever since Ron and Angela Winbush split, his songs lack that "Angela" sound in the background and in production. That is something I truly miss. They made BEAUTIFUL music together.
