Perhaps second only to 'Are You Experienced', Electic Ladyland is a two CD set that is Jimi at his best. Featuring songs like All Along the Watchtower, Rainy Day - Dream Away, Voodoo Chile and others. The album represents the range of Jimi, rock, blues, jazz, improv, and yet the album is produced so well that it all flows well together. IMHO, the second CD is the strongest but my preference is to play CD-1, then CD-2 in order. I also feel that some of Jimi's music has been so overplayed (Purple Haze, Foxey Lady etc.) that they sometimes feel dated, however - most of Electric Ladyland did not get a lot of radio airplay and can more easily be accepted as a piece that stands on it's own with out the weight of time on it's back.
