Free Music Review: Lakehouse movie and soundtrack Hit: 4 Stars
I did see the movie recently. Has some interesting and funny moments. The soundtrack was great. I am a fan of Nick Drake. I don't know all the soundtracks that Rachel Portman has done but I loved the soundtrack from "Chocolate" which she also produced music for.I liked the Carol King soundtrack which has a little more of an upitty, jazzy beat. The movie was ok, The ending left me saying, "Ok, What was that?" Other people leaving had the same reaction. It was strange and bizarre. But taking it as the love story it is, it is good. The soundtrack is definately worth purchasing and definately something you would want to relax to or if you are feeling a bit on the melancholy sort of side.
Free Music Review: Nice and pretty mellow Hit: 4 Stars
I mainly got this CD because I really liked the Paul McCartney "This never happened before"/love theme for Kate and Alex. I was disappointed because some songs were missing from the soundtrack. I truly think they should have included the tree planting song (where Alex plants the tree in Chicago for Kate). That stated, it's still a good CD if you like the movie.
Free Music Review: Review of The Lake House Hit: 4 Stars
I'm really enjoying this CD. It does indeed reflect the ambience of the movie, with some great songs. Would prefer if it had a few more vocalised tracks, however, the ones that are there are great, especially Carole King's It's Too Late. The songs without lyrics are also really nice.
