Free Music Review: Took a Chance & Wow
Hit: 5 Stars

In December 2007, I had begun seeing a girl (without really knowing it). It was a casual affair at first. A friend of mine was having a birthday and not knowing what to get her, I walked into the record store and picked this album up and took it to the listening post.
I loved it so much, having never heard any of their stuff ever in my life and bought it, I wanted to give this album to my friend for her birthday instead I kept it and bought her something else.
I instantly loved "This Is The Sound", "One Trust", and "Return To Me". The girl I was seeing we became boyfriend and girlfriend and have experienced together and overcome a lot of the issues/themes the frontman talks about. I wonder how they will top such a masterpiece when it is time to do a follow up? I have never heard such a perfect first debut album. Well done and please tour in Auckland, New Zealand, I'll buy VIP seats and you'll see me and my still girlfriend who fell in love together with each other as well as with the music of The Last Goodnight.

Free Music Review: Go Ahead and Buy It
Hit: 4 Stars

If you're a fan of the singles I give you permision. Go Ahead and Buy the CD. It's well worth it. A lover of alternative music will enjoy the CD, and its differnt and new enough to "justify" it if your music budget's low. We can only hope for a plentiful future for The Last Good Night if The Posion Kiss is any indication.

Free Music Review: If you love Maroon5 then you'll love TLG
Hit: 4 Stars

Excellent starter album with several potential hits. Maroon5 fans will love this album. A must buy!

Free Music Review: Take out a few of the ballads and add more energetic rockers and you have yourselves a 5
Hit: 3 Stars

The Good
The opening keyboard & organ tones on "Poison Kiss" are sure to make you scratch your head a bit, but the harmonic vocals and catchy chorus are sure to win you over in the end. Vocalist Kurtis John lays down some sweet melodies on both the microphone and piano on "Back Where We Belong." It's not hard to miss that The Last Goodnight is all about harmony. It's blatantly more apparent than on "Stay Beautiful." Soulful emotion and heartfelt lyrics are abundant on the ballad "This is the Sound." On the opposite end of the emotional spectrum is the mellow track "Return to Me." The progressive effects add texture to "Incomplete."

The Bad
The band's image doesn't fit their musical style. There are way too many ballads, when the band sounds so much better with upbeat material.

The Verdict
Poison Kiss is rich in vocal melodies and textured rhythms. Anytime you can work piano into rock music is always a plus in my book. Take out a few of the ballads and add more energetic rockers and you have yourselves a 5.

Free Music Review: Excellent debut album!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a great debut album and it's not getting enough attention. The band caught my attention after I listened to the song 'Pictures of You' on VH1. After listening to the sample tracks I decided to buy the album and it's worth every penny. Every single song on the album was very well made. The more I listen to them, the more I like the album. Beside 'Pictures of You, my other favorites are 'This is the Sound', 'Return to Me', and 'Incomplete'. It's an awsome band!
