Free Music Notes for The Life Aquatic with Steve ZissouFree Music Review: Great Variety and Great Music Hit: 5 Stars
The soundtrack to Life Aquatic is one of my favorites of any movie, which is weird, because most of it is so different from what I normally listen to.
Seu Jorge's versions of David Bowie's songs not only fit the movie perfectly, but they are awesome songs in their own right. In addition, there is a great song by the Zombies, a couple songs David Bowie does himself, and some other great tracks.
The amazing part about the soundtrack is how different many of the songs are, yet how well they fit together; there are a lot of mellow accoustic tracks, as well as some up-beat accoustic, and some rock, and even a little dance music!
Free Music Review: # 1 Hit: 5 Stars
Ok I am going to say it,this is the best movie soundtrack of all time, high or sober, sane or insane, whatever mental state you are in,it's amazing, you never get bored of the songs,my husband is addicted to it,i think i have mood disorder but this album is a mood stabilizer, seriously, such a great soundtrack, you can play it anywhere,no one i know have ever disliked this album, everyone becomes a fan of it actually,it is one of the greatest soundtracks to ever exist,who-ever compiled this album either was high as hell or just simply have powerful sense in music. Two thumbs way streched up!!
Free Music Review: Bill Murray rides again Hit: 5 Stars
Though filled to the brim with well known actors, "The Life Aquatic" is truly a Bill Murray film. As an actor he is so underrated. This film while receiving some bad reviews is a completely wonderful jaunt exploring the world of documentary film makers. It might poke a little fun at the likes of Jacques Cousteau but it is all in good fun. The score is absolutely wonderful with pieces from David Bowie and original score from Mark Mothersbaugh (Devo)as well as the soulful Seu Jorge. Look for great performances from Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe....This film is just a lot of fun.
Free Music Review: Definitely awesome Hit: 5 Stars
I rarely am moved to write reviews. Nothing ever seems truly awesome enough or terrible enough to make me want to share how i feel about it. but seriously, this movie and soundtrack are AWESOME. I work at a movie theater and see nearly every movie hearing dozens of different soundtracks a year and this is one of the best. All I can really say is if you are gonna buy one cd today get this one. Truly, its only flaw is it is missing that Sigur Ros song, but otherwise 100% perfect. Take care.
Free Music Review: Soundtrack - Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou Hit: 5 Stars
An eclectic mix of genre's of music, interwound to sound natural as a compilation.
This soundtrack is an excellent compliment to the movie. An highlight is the Spanish versions of David Bowie songs throughout. It gives you a different perspective when listening.
At the very least, you'll have a great track, Ping Island/ LIghtening Strike, to go diving to. Providing you have a; '...rabbit eat to pipe in the music.'
