Free Music Notes for The Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Ring (The Complete Recordings)Free Music Review: Fantastic Piece Hit: 5 Stars
This is a great addition to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Anyone that is a fan of music and how music is composed and used in thematic fashion should have this set. The Adams booklet is outstanding and the annotated score found on the soundtrack website is also great.
The music is so much more complete here than in the regular soundtrack. I agree with the earlier review that said you could really trash the soundtrack purchased originally and use this one. The motifs used are absolutely amazing and they have added in the bonuses of hearing the Lay of Luthien by Mortenson and the Lament for Gandalf. Wonderful pieces.
Also, many of the tracks are extended from what they were in the movie. Just a great collection of Shore's music and is really shows was a great composer he is.
Free Music Review: Shore's LOTR Music - Classics In the Making Hit: 5 Stars
There are no further words one can read after you have read all of the previous reviews - there simply isn't anything else to say about Howard Shore's genius in composing the music for such a monumental film (undertaken by Peter Jackson) - a tribute to JRR Tolkien.
What there is left to say is: When will the 2d set "The Two Towers - Complete Recordings" become available? If you are a true and loyal fan (never mind "fan"), if you can appreciate something fine in the realm of "classic music that will endure for the ages", then you can't just stop with the 1st set: "Fellowship, Complete Recordings".
Does anyone know when we can expect the 2d set of complete recordings for The Two Towers? I grow anxious with anticipation!
Free Music Review: Elf-lover's delight Hit: 5 Stars
I agree with all of the positive remarks made by others. The whole work is exquisite, but what I love most about this set is that there is much more of the elvish music. The haunting song sung by the elves as they journey to the Grey Havens (Extended Version of the movie) seems to be much longer than it was even in the movie itself, and the music in Lothlorien seems to go on forever. This set is definitely worth the price, but the wait for The Two Towers and The Return of the King sets might be a blessing in disguise, as paying for all three sets at one time might be a bit intimidating! But even with the prices, I'll be buying the next two as soon as they come out, and (HINT) I would buy a CD of only elvish music, too.
Free Music Review: The Best Complete Soundtrack!! Hit: 5 Stars
This is the most important tale on Epic Fantasy written on history. The Fellowship of the Ring is the first part of the trilogy "The Lord of the Rings" and is a first contact with the world of the Middle Earth, and so does the soundtrack.
With songs as "Many Meetings", "The Council of Elrond" and "The Departure of Boromir" you will first hear the childs' chorus in order to imagine the Elves lands and the One Ring that corrupts the soul of everyone who tries to hold it in his hands.
Frodo and Sam will begun a dramatic trip to send the One ring to the Flames of Mount Doom... and Howard Shore's music will follow this hobbits in each step to make it more bearable.
"One Score to rule them all"
Free Music Review: Well worth the purchase price! Hit: 5 Stars
I've purchased all three "complete recordings" (The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King). If you are fortunate to have a DVD Audio player and a surround sound system, you are in for a treat! Each "complete recordings" package contains a DVD Audio disc. The full multi-CD soundtrack is on the DVD Audio disc. It is encoded in 48KHz, 24bit, 5.1 channel surround sound (2 channel stereo is also available). This is the way soundtracks should be heard as they were designed to compliment the movie in surround sound format. The disc is well engineered, the sound superb, and of course the score is masterful. It is well worth the cost.
