I resisted buying this for the longest time, since I already own the single disc soundtrack that came out with the film's release. I just saw "Fellowship" with a live orchestra last night at Radio City Music Hall in N.Y.C. and this item was available for purchase. I bought it without hesitation and do not regret it! Excellent music start to finish. The only regret I did have was the long line after the show to get Howard Shore's autograph... it was late and I couldn't wait. Oh well, maybe next year at the live orchestral performance of "The Two Towers"!!!Free Music Review: Superb!

All true LoR fans will love this. I haven't done it yet, but it would be most enjoyable, I would think, to read the Trilogy again w this soundtrack as background music. Don't know, but worth a go. The only minor regret I had was that I missed Galadriel's "explanation" of how the Ring came to be that was on the original soundtrack. But that's a small thing. Overall, the music is stirring, and conjures images of the beginning of the journey, the Fellowship being formed, its early escapades ... joy, dread, happiness, grief, adventure. With the release of the Complete Recordings, Peter Jackson and Howard Shore gave their fans the opportunity to return into the mystics of middle-earths music deeper than before. While the ordinary soundtracks only had some selected parts of this epic score, fans are now able to listen to every single note, Shore wrote for this fantastic trilogy. You are able to learn everything about the history of the music, with lots of informations about the different musical themes, which you can hear through the 3 hours of music.

This recording is a "must have" for fans of the music from the Lord Of the Rings films..I own the soundtracks from all 3 films and they are enjoyable, but they seem only a sampling after hearing this set. You can close your eyes and imagine each scene in the movie. The quality of the sound is beyond excellent. I love the added bonus of having an additional recording on a DVD that lets you listen to the whole soundtrack without interruption. I am eagerly awaiting the complete recordings from "The Two Towers" and "The Return of the King".Free Music Review: absoutely fantastic

Being a huge fan of lotr my collection was not complete without the complete recordings of the 3 movies. The music is wonderfulyy emotional,inspirational you cant help but get fully involved with music it has a story all of its own. It is so well put together Howard Shore and his team should be highly commended for their work it is magnificent. I love the entencity, the passion the romance the depth all on one cd. Thankyou for giving me the opportuntiy in owning such a terrific masterpiece of music. Cheers Bernadette
