As stated, I don't own this 3-in-1 CD set because I bought each of the CDs separately. I would leave the theater at the end of each movie and head to the nearest music store to find the soundtrack, and I don't regret doing so. These are among the best CDs I've ever purchased. The music defies description; Howard Shore is a genius!! Most of the selections are instrumental, but the vocal selections (Enya - CD 1; Emiliana Torrini - CD 2; Annie Lennox - CD 3) are magnificent. I listen to these CDs every day. I even burned a CD of the more soothing selections to listen to as I'm falling asleep. Some selections are intense, but when I listen to them I can visualize scenes from the movies. For those who love the Lord of the Rings movies or just like good music, these CDs are the best way to round out your collection.Free Music Review: Sweet Deal

This 3 CD collection contains all the standard soundtracks for Lord of the Rings. So Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of the King are all here, one disc each, in a box designed by Alan Lee I believe. In addition to all 3 single-disc soundtracks, you get all the 'collector' cards (sometime when a soundtrack CD for a major film event is released there are 5 or 6 different character covers you get to choose from). This release is recommended for someone who does not own any Lord of the Rings soundtrack, as you get all three in one shot for a pretty good price, or for the casual listener. For REAL fans of either Lord of the Rings or film score, I suggest looking into the the Complete Recordings as it is essentially listening to the film.Free Music Review: I love it!!

I got the 3CD set for christmas this year and was thrilled. I had owned the first two (The Fellowship of the Ring, and The Two Towers). I am a big fan of the Lord of the Rings, not only the movies but the books also. Since my first two CDs were stolen I was really happy to get all three back. The case they come in is really nice and lookes great on the shelf. The trading cards that come with it are really great and if you are a fan you will love them.
Howard Shore is a great composer and I love all of his work. If you liked the movies, even if you're not a huge fan, you will love these CDs!! :)

Personally,my favorite CD is the first one (maybe because I'm more used to it?)but acually they are all veeerrrYyyyy great and I suggest buying this.And u get 18 free pictures too.If any of you read spinner903's comment...he said this was overpriced.Wrong.He said that he could buy the CD's for less.Yes...he spoke true...but notice that THIS set is ENHANCED.If you bought the 3 CD's seperately and they were enhanced then it would cost 23$ each!And also this is limited edition...(if that means anything to you)...oh yea, and did I mention?Free pictures!Woohoo!Free Music Review: Fantastic movie soundtrack

Horner is a new person in soundtrack composing, but I think he described with sounds exactly what Tolkien means about all scenes in his book "the lord of the rings", as also did Jackson with the direction of the movies. Tolkien was not so easy to understand sometimes for me, now I know more than I could believe, I understand all the people and their stories in this wonderfull saga. Thank You to the good e-seller for the good price I bought the package, this was a great idea too: a special price for a special movie trilogy. Thank You again Veronica
