Free Music Review: Great, but beware...

PLEASE note that this set does NOT include the three limited edition CDs, each of which had various features not available on the standard discs. These are the standard discs; the advertising is misleading. I did not discover this until I opened the box set, and when I returned it to Amazon, I was only credited a partial amount. Which is a ripoff, but so be it.In any case, the music is one of the best scores ever written, so it gets nothing but five stars from me. Just don't think you're getting something you aren't.

This soundtrack is absolutely awsome! I had heard pieces of it, but did not listen to all of it until this past May. I ended up with two of my best friends sitting on our high school stage about two hours before our musical listening to this soundtrack and eating Chinese food. By the time we were finished, we had listened to a ton of the soundtrack and were probably five times calmer than we had been when we started. Simply put, the best musical score by the best composer made for the best films based on the best novels of all time. This music is extraordinary and will live forever, along with the movies it was created for. It is incredible in terms of technicality, and epic in the way it evokes emotion from the listener. I have often been moved to tears by the music alone. I feel no one has, and no one ever will, come even close to reaching the utter flawlessness of these films or their musical composition.Free Music Review: Amazing!

I bought this collection and was astounded by the music. Howard Shore is true genius. The range of emotions, the orchestration, the themes, it is overwhelmingly beautiful. These scores include some of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard; like 'Concerning Hobbits', 'The Breaking of the Feelowship', 'The King In the Golden Hall' or 'The Return of the King'. I recommend this set to all Score collectors or Lord of the Rings fans.Free Music Review: The music is wonderful

(Amazon removes critism...) The music is wonderful. It does very in intensity. I increase volume for some of the quieter pieces then have to decrease volume for some of the louder pieces. It's best listened to in a quiet environment. Enya composed and performed a couple of the songs on the Fellowship CD - very nice. If you like the Rings music, you might also like the Best of Enya and Loreena McKennitt's The Book of Secrets.
