Bought it when it first came out on cassette. The cassette is long gone but the music haunts me still. A random bunch of covers and originals by mostly unknown musicians is not exactly what you'd expect to be *this* good. The charm lies in the eclectic feel of something slapped together by some really creative people who maybe didn't totally realize just how many people were gonna see their little horror flick. There's magic in it, maybe magic that seeped in from the filming location, or inspired by the screenplay, or something the director catalyzed in those who participated in his project...hard to say. It's a mystery, but the feel of the movie is so very well captured in this compilation; and if you can drop your cynicism for a hot moment (yes this is 80s music), and are as fascinated by the darkness as you are afeared of it, then give this a listen.Free Music Review: Who Doesn't Love The Lost Boys

One of my favorite songs is from The Lost Boys soundtrack. It's hard to find this soundtrack on the internet to pay for a download of a single song. However, to buy the cd and listen to my favorite song "Cry Little Sister" by Gerard McMann over and over again was worth it. There are other versions of "Cry Little Sister" by Gerard McMann and other artists from other albmus, but for some reason, the version from The Lost Boys soundtrack is the best. It hits all the right notes at just the right time. That's why I had to buy The Lost Boys soundtrack.Free Music Review: One of the best soundtracks

the Lost Boys in my opinion- is one of the best movie soundtracks of the 1980's. Everytime I hear it it takes me back 20 years ago.It is not a hard rock album at all. It is very diverse between soft rock and pop. If you grew up in the 80's , you will love this CD.
There are alot of unknown performers on this CD, but I think they have stood out over the past 20 years. I beleive the success of the film is due in part to the soundtrack. If you like alternative rock/pop, order this CD today.
I have always owned a copy of this sountrack since I first saw the movie back in 1987. I got the cassette tape in 1987 and finally got the CD in 2007.

This is one of the best soundtrack albums ever made. The music is fun, catchy, melodic, and dark. It has it all! Every song on this album is fantastic. INXS and Lou Gramm really made this album come to be, as well as the fantastic re-makes. Roger Daltreys cover of Elton John's "Don't let the Sun go down on Me", and Echo & the Bunnymens cover of the Doors "People are Strange" are highly worth mentioning. INXS' "Good Times", featuring Jimmy Barnes, is a great way of opening the album. With it's catchy beat and lyrics, "Good Times" makes you feel good, and makes you want to dance! "Laying down the Law", also featuring Jimmy Barnes, is a wonderful addition to this soundtrack. The sax solo is amazing, and the song is very mello and relaxing. Lou Gramms "Lost in the Shadows (the Lost Boys)" is classic. It's very up-beat and a bit dark as well. It's a great song that truly helped make this album what it is. It also makes you want to get up and dance! Gerard McManns "Cry Little Sister (theme from the Lost Boys)" really captures the soundtracks mood. It's darkness, and the spooky organ really gives it the right touch. You Can't have a better theme for this movie or soundtrack. Eddie & the Tide's "Power Play" is a great song for this album. A classic beat and sound, and with a saxophone thrown in you can't go wrong. Tim Cappelos "I Still Believe" is incredible. Guitars combined with a saxaphone is such a nice mix. It gives off an incredibe sound that just takes you back to when music was good. Mummy Calls "Beauty has Her Way" has a soft and slightly dark mood. It's a wonderful song with a wonderful sound that is very relaxing and, once again, with a nice saxophone sound! Finally Thomas Newman composes "To the Shock of Miss Louise" (the song played in the movie at the amusment park). This has the carnival sound through and through and, since it was played more than once in the movie, it deserves to be here. It also makes a nice closing track. So, there you have it! This is truly one of the best soundtrack albums ever made, and when you get into a "Lost Boys mood" pop this in your CD player and get lost in the shadows. I highley recommend the movie as well.
