Free Music Notes for The Matrix: Music From The Motion PictureFree Music Review: Its looking for you..... Hit: 5 Stars
When I first listened to this CD, I was shocked at how fitting the songs were for the movie and how good they were, considering I really haven't listened to that type of music before. I figured, hey, if the movie was great the soundtrack prabably was too.....and I was right! The music sounds as if when you close your eyes in the dark, you're at an endless techno club that is crowded and the music is turned up full volume. Its perfect for l o n g car trips or waiting at the airport or when you are mad and frustrated. So, if you like the Matrix and/or similar movies,or just like loud rock music, get the CD. You'll be glad you did!
Free Music Review: Masterfully Assembled and Ass-Kickin' Hit: 5 Stars
For all that can actually say that this soundtrack is full of untalented musicians and washed-ups, why did you buy this if you knew (by watching the movie) what kind of music was going to be on it? Duh. This soundtrack is the best compilation since "The Crow" soundtrack: A marvelous achievement. Given, there are few new songs here, but then again, neither was there in "The Crow." I'd like to add as many others did, Track #4 is one of the most entralling songs I've heard. Just imagine music that flows through your ears with bass to accompany. It's worth $13 and the price of a CD player alone. Kick ASS!!!
Free Music Review: Got me into rock Hit: 5 Stars
Way back, when The Matrix was in theaters, I decided I wanted to get into metal. Because "Wake Up" sounded pretty good at the end of the movie, I bought this CD. Two years later, I listen to either the Deftones or Marilyn Manson almost daily. This soundtrack was the first place I heard them, There are other good songs by bands who I wouldn't normally like on here as well{"Du Hast," "Dragula," "Bad Blood," "Minefields"), so overall, this is a great CD for people wanting to hear good metal/techno. WARNING: If you're already into metal/techno, you'll probably own the whole CD already.
Free Music Review: Okay. It converted me. Hit: 5 Stars
As someone who has always insisted that the score is pretty much really the only music worth listening to from any movie, and that soundtracks are nothing more than a marketing scheme...I was floored when I took a listen to some of this soundtrack on a whim. I don't even *like* loud or heavy or techno as a general rule, and I've found myself listening to nothing but this CD for the last few days. "Spybreak," "Clubbed to Death," and "Wake Up" not only evoke some of the movie's best scenes, but make for marvelous listening in themselves. This soundtrack's an excellent companion to the movie.
Free Music Review: Flawless Victory Hit: 5 Stars
There isn't a thing wrong with this CD, one of the few that I can listen to straight through. I originally bought it because it has the soon-to-be-released ministry single (Bad Blood), and I couldn't wait til June for the new Ministry disc to come out (quick plug: Dark Side of the Spoon, available early June. June 6th if I heard right). But the ministry single wasn't the only good thing about this disc. Some old stuff (My own summer by the deftones) and some new stuff released elsewhere (rock is dead on Manson's latest CD), and some techno (my favorite is Ultrasonic sound). A definite must-buy for anyone .
