Free Music Notes for The MavericksFree Music Review: The Mavericks are back Hit: 5 Stars
Talk about a return album... The Mavericks have returned in full force. They sound similar, but have moved from country towards the rock genre. Old fans shouldn't dispair, because if you liked the mavericks before, you'll probably still love them. They give a great variety of songs, from the very Beatles sounding "Would you Believe" to the Country sounding "In my dreams" to the Latin sounding "Shine a Light" to the Big Band era sounding "A Little to Lonely" The Mavericks display a great amount of talent in this CD, and I am glad I added it to my collection. Unfortunately, the Mavericks don't quite fit in with any certain category, so they won't get nearly as much air-time as they deserve with this great album.
Free Music Review: Bought it as a secondary Hit: 5 Stars
Ok, so I bought it because it come on a special with the "Los Lonely Boy". The first rack cought me and I can't get it out of my player. I am new to these guys. They are awsome!Great vocals, and arrangements. Clearly Roy Orbison's influence stands out with the sophistication of an Elvis delivery. This stuff is great and if you guys in the northeast want someting to listen to other then classic rock or what ever the comtemporary flavor is, this and the Los Lonely boys are a must, you won't be dissapointed.
Free Music Review: Another Amazing CD Hit: 5 Stars
They're back, and better than ever!! I just came home from their concert at the House of Blues and they were in fine form. Raul Malo was channeling everyone from Roy Orbison to Barry Gibb, and the band has never sounded better. New guitarist Eddie Perez fits in seamlessly! They did a lot of songs from the new album, which were amazing, especially Air That I Breathe. If you love their CD's, please treat yourself and see them live sometime if you can. You won't get better entertainment for your dollar!
Free Music Review: Best album of the Year Hit: 5 Stars
Raul and the gang have come back with another stomper of an album. Quite simply the most melodic album I have heard in ages. Some very good pop songs I would say more so than country. I have not stopped playing this album since it arrived 2 weeks ago. I urge everyone to buy it and enjoy it.
Free Music Review: Great Tunes. Hit: 5 Stars
As an avid Mavericks fan, I was unsure of how I felt about this CD. However, the more I listened, the more I loved it. Raul Malo's voice is the best. I wouldn't classify this as country; easy listening is a better "label". Try it, you'll like it. It will definitely grow on you.
