Free Music Notes for The Mission: Original Soundtrack From The Motion Picture

Free Music Review: One of the best soundtracks there is
Hit: 5 Stars

From the days of "A Fistful Of Dollars" and "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly" up to "Cinema Paradiso," "Malena," and this album, to name a few, the maestro Ennio Morricone has had a place in sountrack composition that can only be paralleled by a few such as John Williams and perhaps James Horner.

"The Mission" is the music to the 1986 blockbuster hit of the same name, starred by Jeremy Irons and Robert De Niro. It provides an excellent and eclectic musical background to the dramatic story, but it's solid enough to stand out by itself alone. It's definitely one of my favorite soundtrack albums in my 900+ CD collection.

Free Music Review: Magnificent
Hit: 5 Stars

This must be the most memorable and magnificent soundtrack I have ever heard. Five years after watching the movie, I still remembered the soundtrack and finally bought it. After owning it a year I can still listen to it repeatedly without growing tired of it. Friends of mine who heard me playing it nearly always ask what it is and mention how beautiful it is. Several have bought it. "Gabriel's Oboe" is the most heavenly piece of instrumental music I know. Having visited Iguassu Falls, the location the movie was filmed, the music is a perfect complement to the real scenery - majesty and delicate beauty - a fragile rainbow hovering over the thundering water.

Free Music Review: Soul stirring music
Hit: 5 Stars

While the film contained some anti-Catholic historical inaccuracies there can be little to argue with the soundtrack.

Whether or not you liked the film, the accompanying soundtrack is fantastic. From gorgeous instrumentals to awesome choir pieces this is an album that will move you.

Not only will the music move you, but it will remind you of scenes from the movie which will move you, such as Robert DeNiro's penance of ascending the cliff with his material possessions tied around his back, Jeremy Irons' playing "Gabriel's Oboe," or the native children singing.

Stunning music to accompany a stunning film.

Free Music Review: Enchanting Soundtrack
Hit: 5 Stars

Certainly the music made this movie spectacular, gracing and moving one as the eyes were privy to the spectacular cinematography.

Morricone's compostion here is fluent with three distinct musical tributaries which play so well with the plotline: oboe, tribal, and religious.

How about the beauty of "Gabriel's Oboe?" Simply magnificent!
The earthiness of the tribal drums and windflute are simply captivating.

The religious chanting and other inspirational sounds are fitting and well done.

All this superbly performed by London Philharmonic Orchestra and choirs of London Voices and Barnett Schools Choir.
