Free Music Notes for The MobFree Music Review: The stars align Hit: 5 StarsThe Mob is members of King's X, Night Ranger, and Winger. With Dug Pinnick on vocals, Kelly Keagy on drums, Reb Beach on guitar and Kip Winger on bass you have one superb sounding CD. The songs are amazing and I guess you couldn't expect any less from these guys.
Free Music Review: Dug in Pop Metal? Hit: 3 StarsYep, and for the most part, it works. Takes you back to like 1987 or so. I guess since Dug was doing other things like moving in a more progressive circle back then, he may felt that he missed out on the hair band, pop metal stuff. Hey, he can belt it out even in this format. It's good stuff, but this CD is rather hard to come by for some reason. Maybe distribution or something.
Free Music Review: Reb Beach is a killer guitar player !!! Hit: 5 StarsReb Beach burns up his guitar !!!!
Free Music Review: an all-star metal band worth checking out Hit: 5 StarsThis band consists of members of King's X, Night Ranger and Winger. Between Reb Beach's guitar shredding and Doug Pinnick's soulful vocals, that alone is worth the price of admission.
Free Music Review: Great sound, great hooks Hit: 4 StarsThe 80's are back, baby! The Mob sounds like Winger but with Doug's beefy vocals. Very melodic, catchy hooks, with lots of great guitarwork by Reb reminiscent of the late 80's early 90's. This is a thoroughly enjoyable CD with great song writing all over it. It's cool to hear Doug's vocals with a different band backing him up. I'm a big King's X fan, but the Mob has more memorable melodies and tunes that stick with you than most KX songs. I wonder if Kip wishes he had saved this project for Winger. If you liked Winger, or any good pop metal, you'll dig this disc.
