Free Music Review: Interesting stuff that time forgot

Five GI's in Germany formed a beat group in the mid sixties, that distanced itself from others with a fast, raw sound, and lyrics that often expressed lot's of anger against the Vietnam war and other atrocities of the time. Monks only released one album that no one bought. To make it even more sad, there would within a decade be people who became legends for doing much of the same tricks. Now you can discover Monks for yourself. This CD contains their one and only BLACK MONK TIME, plus two singles they also released. Also included is a written summary of the band's story, which is informative but written in the early 90's and not entirely up to date.
Not all the tracks are timeless, but there is a handful of real nuggets for everyone attracted to early beat music. I'm for one truly hooked on MONK TIME.
