Free Music Notes for The Mummy: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Free Music Review: A "Mummy" Of A Score.
Hit: 5 Stars

Jerry Goldsmith, the maestro behind "Patton" & "Mulan," creates a real mummy of a score for Stephen Sommers' action-packed remake of the original 1932 movie of the same name. Goldsmith really captures the feel of Ancient Egypt & modern-day Egypt. Great score. My personal favourite tracks are: "Imhotep," "The Sarcophagus," "Tuareg Attack," "Night Boarders," "Mumia Attack," "The Mummy" & "The Sand Volcano." It's a terrific score, as Goldsmith creates action themes for Imhotep & Rick and love themes for both Imhotep & Anck-su-Namun, and Rick & Evelyn while composing music that really fit the rest of the film.

Free Music Review: Jerry Goldsmith does it again!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Jerry Goldsmith proves time and again that he knows what makes a good score. His catchy theme - which is slightly reminiscent of a William's motif in "The Last Crusade" - is used intuitively in different orchestrations to promote further understanding of different scenes. For example, you can hear subtle differences as the music is used as a sound bridge between ancient and modern egypt. His style presents 1920's elements to his Egyptian theme thus bearing further indication of what is happening on screen.

Not only a must see this is a must buy as well!

Great Job Jerry!

Free Music Review: A Magnificent Achievement!
Hit: 5 Stars

Jerry Goldsmith's score for "The Mummy" revives the tradition of classic Hollywood scores like Maurice Jarre's music for "Lawrence Of Arabia" or John Williams's music for the "Indiana Jones" series. Here we have thrilling rompings of sound. We hear great mixtures of a modern orchestra with Middle Eastern sounds and music. "The Mummy" was a good movie, but the score by Jerry Goldsmith is even better. My favorite track was the adventerous, "The Caravan." Few films have such great music, and it's hard to find a film composer who makes music like this!

Free Music Review: Wow!
Hit: 5 Stars

First of all, I am a big fan of movie scores, "and mummy movies." This score totaly impresses me. It begins slowly, a lone stringed instrument with light choir and low strings. Bang! drums, brass, thumping sounds that you put with the amazing Cairo scene from the film. Following this is the tragic, yet sinister love theme for Imhotep and Anak Sanu Mun. Ending this track is the terrible murder of Pharoh by his bride to be, and his high priest.

The score only goes uphill after this phenominal opening, and impresses on every way possible.

A must have, the new never wears off!

Free Music Review: A beautiful egyptian scenario with old movie flair!
Hit: 5 Stars

One of his best pieces contrived with the same intensity as Poltergeist and the 13th Warrior. Definately not to be overlooked. You will be swept into an egyptian tomb as he scores another dark adventurous theme. Feel the wrath of Imhotep while listening to track #8 (personal favorite), The Crypt. Then only to be wrapped up with a great ending, track #15 The Sand Volcano, that consists of different emotional eliments that start out fast and ends in an almost soft romantic melodic tone. All in all I highly recommend this Goldsmith soundtrack...it has a lot of old classic movie flair!
