Free Music Review: CHILLING SCORE TO ONE OF THE BEST 5 Stars

I SAW THE MOVIE AND I WAS BLOWN AWAY, BUT IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AS MEMORABLE WITHOUT A GREAT SCORE TO HELP CARRY IT. TELLING THIS STORY ALONE IS POWERFUL ALL BY ITSELF, BUT THE POINT OF THIS MOVIE WAS TO CAPTURE PEOPLE IN WAY LIKE NEVER BEFORE, THIS COULD NOT HAVE BEEN DONE WITHOUT THIS AMAZING SCORE. IT HELPED CARRY THE EMOTIONS OF THE CHARACTERS AND CREATE A HAUNTING MOOD FOR EACH SCENE. I WOULD NOT HAVE CRIED THE WAY I DID AT THE END WHEN JOSEPH IS CARRING MARY LOOKING FOR A ROOM IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR THE MUSIC SURROUNDING THIS SCENE WHICH SLOWLY TURNED FROM A MUSICAL PIECE TO CREATE SUSPENSE INTO A RIVITING VERSION OF CAROL OF THE BELLS. IT WAS SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL.
FROM THE MOMENT THE CREDITS OPENED TO THE ENDING CREDITS, THE MUSIC WAS INCREDIBLE INTENSE AND WORKED VERY WELL WITH EACH SCENE. SINCE THE MOVIE AND THE SOUNDTRACK, THIS MUSIC HAS LIVED INSIDE ME. THIS SOUNDTRACK IS ONE NOT TO BE MISSED. TRUST ME, YOUR CHRISTMAS MUSIC COLLECTION IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT THIS SCORE WHICH DOES AN IMMACULATE JOB OF REMINDING US OF THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD. BLESS ALL OF YOU OUT THERE, AND HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS. PLEASE GO SEE THIS MOVIE AND THEN GO BUY THE SOUNDTRACK.

Free Music Review: Wonder And Amazement
Hit: 5 Stars

Mychael Danna was given the task of creating a score to a film about the greatest single Christmas gift ever given to the world. He's done an amazing job. From the somewhat chilling yet welcome opening of "Veni, Veni, Emanuel" to the driving terror of "Census" to the awe that is "And Thou Bethlehem," Danna has weaved a musical tapestry crossing numerous musical styles as well as history as a whole. From Middle Eastern sounds to Gregorian chant, Danna takes listeners (and viewers of the film) through Christianity's history via song.

This album is solemn some of the time, suspenseful at others, and even a little bit fear-inducing, but it is always wonderful. I highly recommend it to both fans of the film and to Christians as a whole. The movie is very powerful, but the music drives its great message home.

Highly recommended.

Free Music Review: Great Soundtrack!
Hit: 5 Stars

This was a phenomenal soundtrack. Most soundtracks only bring you back to the movie. This one went farther. It makes you feel like you would be in that time period and the emotions Mary and Joseph would have felt. I highly recommend this.Even if you can only rent the dvd to watch, keep the soundtrack to listen and reflect on the beauty and emotion that the movie gave.

Free Music Review: Worth the price of the CD
Hit: 5 Stars

This soundtrack has THE most beautiful version of Silent Night I've ever heard; it's worth the price of the CD just to get that track. (Since the choral portion of the track is sung in Latin, it's called Silens Nox.) When I heard it in the movie, I immediately thrilled to it--it was so gorgeous I wanted to close my eyes and just drink in that glorious music...Bravo!

Free Music Review: Great Christmas Item
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a great Christmas item to have. The music is perfect for background noise. It's very beautiful and festive, but won't make it hard to interact with other while playing. I love the rendition of Lo How a Rose Er Blooming at the end. Very haunting and beautiful.
