Free Music Notes for The PoliceFree Music Review: Another Greatest Greatest Hits.... Hit: 5 Stars
The Police were and still are my all-time favorite band. But the last thing I need is another hits collection. I think we're up to four greatest hits packages with this band. C'mon guys! Break out the rarities and unreleased stuff. I know there's a ton. Perhaps this collection was put together to help booster this summer's reunion tour - like they needed any help with that. I still give it 5 stars - these songs are some of the best ever recorded in my opinion. Andy, Stewart and Sting will always rock!
Free Music Review: Classic Stuff Hit: 5 Stars
The Police were one of the best rock trios period. Sting played the bass and flowed his lyrics. Andy Summers filled tracks up with his playing. Sometimes it sounded like two lead guitars. Let's not forget my man Stewart Copeland. I have never enjoyed listening to drummers much before him. This guy had some sick fills. One of my favorites was on Driven To Tears at the break at the end of the song. Listen to it and you will hear for yourself. My only regret is not seeing them perform live.
Free Music Review: I owe it to you, Sting... Hit: 5 Stars
You saved me from only liking Broadway songs for life with "Every Breath You Take." After EBYT, I listened to all the other hits, and then Sting's solo stuff, and then countless other artists in several genres, and my collection has and continues to skyrocket. I adore the Police now, and am proud to own this anthology. I am also happy to say that I will be seeing you guys in July, on my parents' 20th anniversary no less. Oh well.
PS: I LOVE YOU STING!
Free Music Review: One of My Favorite Bands Ever Hit: 5 Stars
This Anthology is worth every penny you spend on it. I grew up listening to the Police and every song imaginable from their early days to the days before the band broke apart are included in this 2 disc compilation.
If you can't go see them on tour right now, buy this cd....and if you CAN go see them on tour right now, I hate you...and buy this cd! :) ;)
p.s. I love you Sting. Nobody really plays bass like you. (ha ha)
Free Music Review: Nearly flawless Hit: 5 Stars
This 28-track collection from one of rock's greatest bands is nearly flawless. Unfortunately, like most compilations on the market, it's missing one or two essential tracks. In this case, they are "When The World Is Running Down, You Make The Best Of What's Still Around" and "Don't Stand So Close To Me '86". Regardless, this collection should be an essential part of any music lover's collection.
