Free Music Review: I watched Prince of Egypt Before Hit: 5 Stars
When I watched Prince I thought it was a Pretty good movie..
Free Music Review: Enjoyed the various interpretations inspired by the film. Hit: 4 Stars
In a recent interview on Los Angeles radio station KJLH, executive producers Buster and Shavoni stated that artists chosen for this project were first required to see the film. Although I have enjoyed this CD immensely, only a handful of selections seem to be inspired by the film. Those that stand out are TAKE 6(DESTINY), CECE WINANS(THE RIVER), BOYZ II MEN(I WILL GET THERE),and DONNIE MCCLURKIN(I AM); all of which sound like they could have been part of the original score. Other tracks which I found to be outstanding were CHRISTIAN(DIDN'T I), KIRK FRANKLIN(LET MY PEOPLE GO) and BRIAN MCKNIGHT(FATHER). Others seemed more preoccupied with "havin' church!", than the theme of this album. The Most High Interludes; especially Part 3, seemed a bit annoying. But overall, this work offers a little something for every taste.
Free Music Review: dcTalk among top recording artists on inspirational sndtrck Hit: 4 Stars
The inspirational soundtrack for "The Prince of Egypt" features a tandem of christian artists and otherwise singing songs for the new movie. The best song probably being dcTalk's "My Deliverer" I have heard the original motion picture soundtrack and i'd have to say the inspirational soundtrack is much better also featuring the debut platinum selling group Jars of Clay. To top off this brilliant recording effort, Boyz to Men also has a song on the soundtrack. It's a great cd and a definite must buy for fans of christian and pop music.
