Free Music Notes for The Princess and the FrogFree Music Review: the songs are what make this a keeper Hit: 5 Stars
A timeless collection of songs from the latest Disney film, Princess and the Frog. Coupled with a terrific and catchy Ne-Yo track, this is a must-buy for Disney fans. The songs, composed by Randy Newman, are utterly brilliant and have a nostalgic feel. These tunes could have easily been inserted in the Disney Renaissance alongside such classics as The Lion King and Aladdin. Really, from the boisterous "When We're Human" to the ominous villain song "Friends on the Other Side" to the beautiful "Ma Belle Evangeline", it's non-stop greatness. There is definitely room in animation for the fun, carefree song-and-dance Disney films that John Lasseter and company are bringing back. I have not seen the film yet, but I can't wait.
Free Music Review: Fantastic my favorite Randy Newman/Disney music so far Hit: 5 Stars
This is a fantastic album with songs that get stuck in your head and make you smile. The score pieces are lovely and compliment the songs.
Randy Newman has mostly done the Pixar/Disney films but he deffinitely pulled out some fo his best stuff here. I first heard soem fo the music over New Years at Disenyland that music prompted me to get off my butt and see teh film which then got to go home and imediately order this cd.
I could live without the silly pop song on track one but everything else is beautifully done and very memorable.
Free Music Review: Princess & Frog Soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
The songs from this hand drawn blockbuster are all delightful and snappy. The crew did a great job of capturing the spirit of New Orleans and the many music flavors we all love in the Crescent City. I will even play the music over our Mardi Gras festivities too! Yep! The score has that gumbo flavor too! Randy did us proud. This should earn an Oscar nod for this special music,- if not- what an injustice to Disney. See the directors on my blog: [...]
Free Music Review: A Diffferent Disney Magic Hit: 5 Stars
I have been waiting for this movie for a while, an I have to say when I heard that Newman would be doing the Score rather than Menken or Schwartz I was really hesitant. However, I do love this movie and the music is wonderful with the story. It is not a typical disney musical because it has the Jazzy-feel to it. Overall, this gave it the edge that maybe animated movies need. I am just glad this style of Disney came back. I was not disappointed.
Free Music Review: Can't stop listening! Hit: 5 Stars
This is a fabulous soundtrack to a fantastic movie! I got it as a gift for Christmas after seeing the movie a few weeks ago and I cannot stop listening to it! Even my dad loves it, though he hasn't seen the movie yet. The song styles are all very different, my favorites being "Down in New Orleans" and "When We're Human". This CD just makes make me want to dance!
