Free Music Notes for My Brother's Blood Machine
Free Music Review: Fanboys and fangirls rejoice. Others need not apply.

If you're already a fan of Coheed & Cambria, there's no need to convince you--buy this album. It's not at all Coheed-esque, but full of impossibly catchy little electronic ditties that belie the horrors of their lyrics. The more somber acoustic pieces slow it down here and there, but keep the story moving and hold the album together beautifully. Few of the tracks are longer than four minutes, and none come together to form any kind of big, epic suite, but I hear it's that way by design. A nice little departure from Claudio's arc of the Kilgannon saga, it will still have you tapping your toes and bopping your head, smiling at all those around you who are wondering "how can you listen to this crap?"
That said, if you aren't a fan of Claudio's music, I've found there's no point trying to convince you. But please try to understand a little bit of the larger concept before you rip on it too hard. It's not easy for everybody to just pick up and listen to, but it's a whole lot deeper than just whining and clever packaging. I wouldn't suggest buying it if you're not in it to just experience Claudio's wierdness (that of the big-haired silly one, not the Crowing).

My Brother's Blood Machine further develops and expands the concepts established in the Coheed and Cambria albums with such recurring themes as the McCloud Family and references to its missing children. The primary difference is that this album is being told from the point of view of a character known as "The Prize Fighter Inferno" a.k.a. Jesse from the story of Coheed and Cambria.Of the 11 songs on the album, we hear a softer side of Sanchez, enveloped in mellow electronic grooves and gentle compositions. Some tracks adopt dance rhythms while others are hypnotizing in melody and verse.
