You'll find fun variety in this film score CD for The Rocketeer. The title theme is much like the signature theme for The Natural but builds to a more heroic emotional tone. There are some great 1940s ballads, perfect for the white dinner jacket clubs that once graced old Hollywood. Some of the music is mindful of fine Eric Corngold incidental cues that augmented the action in Errol Flynn movies. The arrangements are wonderful too. I own three of these CDs, one is in my car and the other two are in homes where I live. If you collect movie film scores, and are partial to orchestrated music, this is certainly one CD for your collection.Free Music Review: Heroic images

Superman and Batman two heroes who get all the movies, toys, cartoons, etc... however with the Rocketeer we can start a new trend. Th Music by Horner fits right in with Superman by Mr. Williams and surpasses Mr. Elfman's work in Batman. on my Mix for heroes I included the Rocketeer as a tune for the golden Age Green lantern The Current GL has the Last Starfighter The Rocketeer is a thrilling adventure of the likes we just dont see any more The Music by Mr. Horner frames it and matches the spirit of it all so perfectly. you could have the worst day of your life and yet feel like a million bucks after listening to this sweeping score!Free Music Review: wht_rbt.obj

This album is absolutely magnificent. It's so excelsior, it actually measures up to the works of John Williams. It has that kind of "moving" feeling that you can't quite explain. I absolutely recommend it if you listen to soundtracks like Jurassic Park, The Lost World, The Fugitive, Return of the Jedi, etc. The movie had its ups and downs, and was severly underrated, but the film's best feature was the music, which goes all that better with the movie. The Rocketeer soundtrack is one of the greatest film scores available. Take advantage of it.Free Music Review: The Rocketeer beats all!

I have listened to most of James Horner's music, and I must say that "The Rocketeer" is the only one that I have been totally satisfied with. I find myself groaning when people say that "Titanic" is Horner's best. In my opinion "The Rocketeer" harkens back to the days when James Horner wrote real orchestral music, instead of letting electric keyboards write the music for him. If you really want some good James Horner music, get this CD! I wish there was a higher rating than 5 stars...Free Music Review: Can't believe no one's mentioned the superlative version of "Begin the Beguine!"

Melora Hardin .... what a perfect voice for this song! It's a stupendously wonderful song to start with, even as a Harry James instrumental, but the lyrics are superbly sung by Hardin! Wowser....
The rest of the soundtrack is perfectly suited to the movie, which is a blast (no pun intended!) to watch. Just a lotta good fun, and after all, Timothy Dalton is always easy on the eyes, even when he's a bad guy! Wonderful music, done very much in the style of the times. Well done, Mr. Horner, and Bravo Melora Hardin!
