i learnt about the great music of Rocky movies in 1995 through Rocky Story long before actually watching a single movie of the series.( i watched entire rocky series in 2001!!!)I buyed the cassette in 1995 and had to wait 7 years to find this on CD. This compilation is excellent and i would rate this as one of the best ever compilation. The first reason i buyed this cd was that its the only cd of rocky music available in India. The soundtracks of any of the Rocky movies hasnt been released in India yet!!!... feel had they added 3 more numbers to this cd it would have been greatest compilation ever. these 3 tracks are 1. redemption (rocky 2) 2.Measure of a man (rocky 5) 3. Go for it (rocky5)7 out of the 9 tracks are from Rocky 4 and 2 from rocky 1.
' Eye of the tiger ' ' hearts on Fire ' ' Gonna fly now ' ' training montage ' ' war ' are the greatest energy busters during work outs . u wont need any supplement if u listen to these tracks! 'Burning Heart ' is a pure emotional track along with ' NO easy way out ' and ' Gonna fly now instrumental '. These tracks are great stress reliver and no matter in how much stress u are u are going to love them. ' living in America ' is the only song for lighter moments. Trust me all the song on this cd will touch your soul.
For all those who havent buyed Rocky soundtracks this is a good buy. i would recommend to buy this cd as it is worth all money spent.
A must buy for all diehard Rocky fans as well as for those who like the high quality music.

If you have been following my reviews for a while now than you know what this means. I don't buy music CD's unless there is good music on it. For example Final Fantasy Tacitics is the besat example of instrumental music in a video game of all time. Also transformers the movie soundtrck had a good old fashion 80's rock and roll feel to it that made it worth purchasing. this is another example of how music made the movies what they were.Lets start with song 1, Eye of the Tiger. This is the basic theme for Rocky 3 which is his comeback after the defeat to Lang (Mr. T.) in which he is trained by Apollo Creed. It's a good song I just wish my High School didn't use it for everything.
Another good one is the Burning heart. I believe this one was in Rocky 4 (in fact three of the tracks were from Rocky 4) which is another example of good music.
I know this review is not the best one but with music it's hard to write a good review. To be truthful the only way to appriciate this music is if you like the movies (which I do). It's the msuic that helped the drama and that's why i think # 2 was the low point. The music didn't help carry the story along. it was there but the movie in whole was a virtual remake of the first.
In the end I say buy this if you are a music fan. TO many of todays soundtacks feature music that is not even in the movie.
Free Music Review: Music That Will Inspire You

This CD is one of the best CDs I own. Because I'm a Rocky Fan, and my favorite movie is Rocky IV, I purchased this CD a couple of years ago. I first heard songs from this CD(especially "Eye of the Tiger") when I was participating in track and field. Songs from this CD inspired all of the guys and me, and everyone worked hard. That's when I became a Rocky Fan!
Most of the songs are from the movie Rocky IV and a few others are remakes of Bill Conti's "Gonna Fly Now" song by the Rocky Orchestra.
In the CD Album "Rocky IV", there's those love songs that don't make sense and have nothing to do with the plot of the movie. All of the songs on the "The Rocky Story" can pump you up. Since all of the Rocky IV songs on this CD are pop-rock music, it's convenient that the song "Gonna Fly Now" is remixed to give you a different feel about it.
This is my favorite CD; it's very entertaining, it pumps me up and inspires me to achieve my goals. These are the best songs from the Rocky movies.
Free Music Review: Really Under Rated

Rocky has one of the most under rated soundtracks in history. It's just as good as Saturday Night Fever, but unlike that, doesn't get caught up in its own pretentiousness. Eye of the Tiger gets things going, an awesdome 80s track that is much more straight heavy metal. Then the next several tracks are also by Survivor, as this makes up about half the whole disc, taken from Rocky 4. Hearts on Fire remains very under rated, Living in America only gets better each time, The Burning Heart remains emotional. The rest of the album is really hit or miss. War I even under rate, only because it pales in comparison to even Hearts on Fire. The real show stopper here though is Gonna Fly Now, taken from the first Rocky flick, a timeless masterpiece that is a mix of classical, high school band geek and disco with some heavy metal solo thrown in for good measure. As other reviewers have stated, this soundtrack/compilation is THE best motivator for athletics that can be found. Before a wrestling match, there is nothing that can pump me up more than listening to this CD. The music becomes even more inspirational after watching the movies. You hear the music and you see in your mind's eye, the picture of Rocky running up the stairs in Philadelphia, or training until dusk. Even if you're not a boxer, the soundtrack will start your heart racing and the adrenaline pumping. After hearing the music, I go out onto the mat for blood. It gives me that edge on my opponent; that advantage that might determine the outcome of a close match in overtime. Five stars to the CD; highly recommended.
