Free Music Review: The Last "Real" Stones Album
Hit: 4 Stars

First of all, let me get this out of the way. I am not a Jagger/Richards songwriting fan. They are fine musicians. I have been listening to the Stones for almost 45 years (we were born together). And after 40-plus years of playing guitar, I took up their material several years ago. But with Aftermath, THIS BAND CHANGED! What happened? Jagger and Richards took over (you write the songs, you own the band...it's that simple). December's Children is the last of a genre, and as far as I am concerned, the end of the Stones as a collective band. As someone else put it, "it became the Mick & Keith Show". How true that is. You know the story: December's Children is made up of several released singles, and a backlog of material left off the earlier US releases. And I enjoy it. Try this: listen INTENTLY to the 64-65 albums, ending with December's Children. Then listen to Aftermath and Between the Buttons. Something happened. I give it 4 stars because of the lead-off track, but other than that, great album. And I don't care if nobody agrees with me. I really don't.

Free Music Review: Another R & B and R & R gem
Hit: 4 Stars

This was the Rolling Stones post 'Satisfaction' disc, so, this was a tough work to follow. Somehow the Stones managed to pull it off by getting another #1 on the charts with' "Get Off My Cloud". No one was quite sure what the point of this song was, but the 3 chord wonder was catchy. The flip side was,"I'm Free".
All these cuts were 2 minute eggs except for "She Said Yeah"
which was a minute and a half. Mostly great Rock and R&B which is what made Jagger and Richards their mark in music history.
The album moves right along and is appreciate by R&B folk and the over 45 crowd or a TRUE Brian era fan. Buy it.

Free Music Review: Save The Children
Hit: 4 Stars

December Children's (And Everybody's) was the third album released by the band in 1965. It contains their second number one song, "Get Off My Cloud". The song is a classic Stones rocker with its defiant lyrics and frantic beat. "As Tears Go By" was written for Mick Jagger's girlfriend of the time, Marianne Faithful. She had a big hit in England with it, but the Stones do a great job of conveying the hurt and pain of the song. The album was hurriedly released to capitalize on their soaring fame and it does suffer from a bit of overkill, but the Stones' energy overcomes the crash commercialism.

Free Music Review: My Personal Favorite from the Stones
Hit: 4 Stars

Its not a cohesive album, just a collection of songs. But where else can you find the raw raunch of a live Route 66 (better than studio version) and then find gems like the wistful Singer Not The Song or Blue Turns to Grey. Some sure fire hits but also some cool covers and some cool songs they probably wrote for other people but covered themselves. I like just about everything on here and so will you. Experiments with tremolo, harmony, harmonica. This album touches it all (blues, pop, rock, ballad and coolness). I am probably being wistful in the recommendation but so be it.

Free Music Review: The Stones Are Finally On A Roll!
Hit: 4 Stars

The fifth album by the Stones is a great follow-up to their smash hit album Out Of Our Heads. With the not so successful first three albums, their fourth, Out Of Our Heads, sent them sky rocketing because of Satisfaction. December's Children and Everybody's has some good tunes in it with a couple of their big hits such as As Tears Go By and Get Off My Cloud. This is an excellent album to keep the Stones rolling which they have proven over the decades.
