Free Music Notes for The Saint: Music From The Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: Some Good, Some Bad, But Nothing Ugly Hit: 4 Stars
Honestly, most of the time this CD was in my player it was on "Repeat 1" for the opening theme. The Eminent Mr. Bowie's contribution to the mix was a great commentary on someone whose sense of self seems composed from media-influences, and I still catch myself murmuring bits of "6 Underground"'s basic yet stick-in-yer-noggin rhythms. I am not a Chemical Brothers fan, though, and "Setting Sun" did not change my mind. The surprise hit to me was "Atom Bomb"; though written for an entirely different source, it does describe the deeply-hidden wild side of Elizabeth Shue's character credibly well. Overall, I'd say it's a "Keeper".
Free Music Review: A good cd to overplay on your own Hit: 4 Stars
A friend had this cd & we killed it together back in April 1997 before I even got it a few months later, even though we just listened to the same songs over & over, particularly the ones by Sneaker Pimps, Underworld, & Daft Punk, which were our favorite tracks obviously. I was amused that my brother thought the opening track (theme) was by an actual orchestra, but that's the cool flavor of it. The end of the cd seemed like just fillers, although I liked the Duncan Sheik track, even though it doesn't fit. Overall, a good cd that introduced me to some GOOD electronic/techno music.
Free Music Review: Big Name Techno here we come Hit: 4 Stars
When I first bought this CD, it was for the theme tune by Orbital. However, I found on it a selection of techno from big names, such as David Bowie, Daft Punk, and Chemical Brothers.I found that after listening to this CD I was able to identify those short clips that spiced the movie, such as the blast of Chemical Brothers as the goon squad leapt out of their car and after Val.
Free Music Review: Near perfection but alas puzzle pieces missing Hit: 4 Stars
the saint was a truly terrific take on the hit 60s tv show starring Roger Moore. The soundtrack really captures the essence of eastern europe chill music with 6 underground and Dream within a Dream. if it werent for the missing tracks from the Carrs and the Smashing Pumpkins this soundtrack would be literal gold.
Free Music Review: One of the better soundtracks Hit: 4 Stars
I borrowed this from a friend and have been hanging on to it for months. It's an excellent mix of various artists, mostly electronica. My one gripe is why they felt it necessary to stick a Duncan Sheik song on there - it does NOT belong on there and I hate it. But other than that the album rocks.
