Free Music Notes for The Saint: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack

Free Music Review: Its not bad
Hit: 3 Stars

I bought this CD thinking in some songs I heard in the film, many of them appears on the soundtrack, yes, (like the main title, the best of the album). But others themes, like the one that appears in the film when they are children, and the boy rescues a girl...it is not in the soundtrack! That one has no voices, and a little of arabic, in the style, I mean. If anybody knows where can I find it, please, contact me in ageyepes@hotmail.com. The rest of the soundtrack its not bad, but I dont like that kind of music...

Free Music Review: well...
Hit: 3 Stars

Great album, but when watching the movie, I heard "You're All I've Got Tonight" performed by The Smashing Pumpkins, but found it to be missing on this soundtrack. too bad, as it's an excellent version...

it can be found on the Aeroplane Flies High box set, tho, so that will have to do

Free Music Review: Techno-ized style popular songs.
Hit: 3 Stars

If you're not expecting techno stuff, you'll be disappointed. If you are, you'll be disappointed. If you're open minded, you might like it.

Free Music Review: Not as good as Astley's big band original.
Hit: 2 Stars

I was disapointed with the lack of sophistication in the film score of the Val Kilmer version of the "Saint". I was looking for at least one cut of the original bigband recording by Sir Edwin Astley from the 60's TV show. It is really much more powerful and big band jazzy than the vague references to the original score feebly quoted in the film. The original score from the British show in turn had taken snippets from the soundtracks of the 1930's "Saint" films. These early 1930's scores had snatched and transmogrified bits of StLouis blues and Claude Debussy. It all culmnated in the sound track of the TV show staring Roger Moore.Even the character's creator, Leslie Charteris, commented that Elstree Studio's score was the best musical impression of the mood he had in mind when writing the stories. Astley's composition had been out on vinyl years ago. Maybe it is time for Elstree Studios to re-release a CD version.

Free Music Review: indispensable to the Virginia Astley collector
Hit: 1 Stars

Being a Professional Virginia Astley Fan is a full time job.It meand living your life through your favourite singer, making a commitment, wakening up each morning and realising your favourite artiste has detrmined what music you collect.Virginia Astley is MY choice over all the world's music so obviously I collect anything made by members of her family. Such as her Dad,Edwin Astley, who found himself at No.5 in the pop charts in I997 with the "Saint" theme by Orbital. This soundtrack album which contained all the other music from the film, was bigger in the States than it was here. For me,this soundtrack album is an example of something Virginia Astley has thrown my way as I need everything with the name "Astley" on it. Its mostly of music new to me but I found it quite pleasant, especially the items by the Chemical Brothers,Daft Punk and Underworld. I mean listening to music blind,as it were,is a great way of finding out whether you rate it highly and I found myself looking forward to certain things every time they came round.
