Free Music Review: This donut has a hole

I enjoyed The Simpsons Movie and am a big Simpsons fan so I was eager to get the soundtrack. I actually purchased it first over iTunes but somehow lost it. When I saw that I could get the limited edition, I went for it. My major disappointment is that there are no snippets of dialogue here as there are in the TV series soundtracks and the instrumentation is less distinguished that I was hoping for. An orchestral version of the theme is nice but there's so much humor in the TV tracks (even without dialogue) I was sorry not to hear more here (although the choral Spider Pig bit is fun). Nevertheless, I enjoy having the donut packaging and the music as part of my small but fun Simpsons collection.Free Music Review: Soundtrack is good, case is not worth it

As others have stated, the donut case is a complete joke. My problem with it is not that it's cheap. My problem is that it doesn't even stay snapped shut. The lid just slides on and very loosely. So besides being cheap, it doesn't even do the one job it's supposed to. For a cheap piece of plastic, it wouldn't have been hard to make it work as a case.
The soundtrack is good, but not Zimmer's best. There's some touches of excellence, but some other pieces that will be forgetable.
I'd give 4 stars for the score, and 2 for the packaging. The case is not worth the extra money
Free Music Review: Uh...where's the funny?

With song titles like, "His Big Fat Butt Could Shield Us All" & "Thank You Boob Lady", I expected this to be another funny, witty, Simpsons album like Songs in the Key of Springfield. It's packed in a donut box for crying out loud! I bought this note unheard, sight unseen, without seeing the movie first, because I have really enjoyed prior Simpsons albums. But I hate to say here that I am disappointed. This is an actual movie score, as in classical music. If there is any humor here at all (besides the song titles) it is in the language of music.Free Music Review: Yeah, it the musical score, and that's it. Not like Songs key to springfield.

If you are planning to Buy this CD expecting it to be Funny like Songs key to Springfield, or The simpson's go Symphonic, Sorry, this is just the ochestral motion picture soundtrack, no funny one liners, no familiar skits or sing-a-longs, just symphony. So, yes, I love the simpsons, but am so dissapointed in this CD. And this donut package is pretty cheep, and has absolutely no advantage or special contents over the Jewel case version, which averages 8-10 dollars cheeper. So Sorry simpsons fans, this is just music. Not a must have.Free Music Review: The Donut does not look yummy at all

The sound track is all right. But the CD case is disappointing. It's cheap looking, like something from a 99cent store. There is no hole in the donut, and the color is more fuchsia than pink. I was expecting something as yummy looking as the real donuts sold in 7-elevens and this is not it. The cardboard box is cute though.
